Senior Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in understanding and translating business needs into actionable requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of digital transformation initiatives. This role involves working closely with stakeholders, including business users, developers, and project managers, to drive business analysis activities on medium to large size projects.

We’re looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team! This position is integral to the function of our organization, playing a critical role in our Project Management team. The key responsibilities for this role include:

Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and system requirements for digital transformation projects.

Facilitate collaborative sessions with diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review.

Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the level of detail and accuracy of estimates.

Lead requirements prioritization and leverage techniques to drive out business priorities.

Verify requirements for quality and validate requirements with impacted stakeholders.

Build and maintain a repository of reusable requirements documentation to support future initiatives.

Provide guidance and support to junior business analysts and participate in knowledge-sharing activities.

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement digital strategies that align with business goals.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Coach leaders in the organization on effective business analysis processes, champion and evolve IFCU business analysis disciple and methodologies by providing processes, structures and tools.

Some things we would like to see in our successful applicant:

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related filed
Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA), CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or CCBA® – IIBA , PMP® or CAPM® – PMI (for project work), Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe Agilist)
5 – 7 years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the financial sector
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of business analysis principles and methodologies.
Proficiency in Agile practices and tools (e.g.,Azure DevOps).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Use and comfortability with a variety of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Teams, Viva, Power Automate, PowerBI)
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is a strong asset

Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading, directing, planning, and implementing selected strategic, complex projects and change management practices by working with Business Owners and project teams to successfully execute. This role masters project management practices that align with the organizational needs and supports the ongoing development, implementation, and maturation of these practices while educating the organization and enhancing their adoption of these practices around Project Management and Change Management. .

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team! This position is integral to the function of our organization, playing a critical role in our Project Management team. The key responsibilities for this role include:

Proven ability to lead enterprise- level projects involving system implementations, digital transformation, regulatory change, and process optimization.
Skilled in managing all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
Strong command of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to work in hybrid environments.
Expert in project scheduling, budget management, resource planning, and risk mitigation.
Experience with vendor management, including handling RFPs, SOWs, SLA oversight, and contract negotiations.
Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to federal credit unions, such as OSFI, FINTRAC, and privacy laws (PIPEDA, CASL, data residency regulations).
Experience delivering projects in retail and commercial banking, digital banking, mobile platforms, lending and deposit systems, CRM, ERP, core banking, or payment modernization.
Familiarity with co-operative banking models, governance, and values.
Demonstrates strong stakeholder management abilities, engaging effectively with all levels from C-suite to frontline staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related filed
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Project Management Professional (PGMP)
Agile certifications in Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (Scaled Agile Framework), PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) and/or Change Management Certification are strong assets
7–10 years of project management experience, preferably in financial services or regulated industries
3–5 years leading enterprise-scale, cross-functional, and technology-focused projects
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A strategic thinker with hands-on delivery capability, excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
Exhibits high accountability, initiative, and resilience, skilled in change leadership and influencing organizational adoption.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Use and comfortability with a variety of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Teams, Viva, Power Automate, PowerBI)

What will you do?

Align with Enterprise Architecture and Information Governance to ensure BI roadmap and priorities are consistent with the overall strategy and vision.
Provide extensive knowledge and expertise to establish data modelling essentials and best practices as the foundation of enterprise reporting capabilities.
Develop processes to support accurate reporting from multiple information sources. Automate reports and provide custom reporting and dashboards according to business requirements.
Manage regulatory reporting for OSFI and monitor regulatory changes and revise our internal systems to reflect the new requirements and standards.
Lead the development of self-service analytics capabilities to empower business users to access, explore, and analyze data independently. Establish and facilitate the Power BI self-serve program.

Bachelor’s degree or MS degree in Computer Science.
A track record of leading Data Analytics and Business Intelligence functions and driving and executing a data analytics roadmap.
Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and the ability to create visually appealing dashboards.

Breadth of technical experience and knowledge, with the following:

What will you do?

Assist in maturing the operational risk function by expanding the use of operational risk management tools across the enterprise through Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Operational Risk Taxonomy, Risk Events, Risk Awareness and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
Review risk registers and risk event logs periodically to fulfill reporting requirements to the relevant committees.
Perform gap analysis of operational risk landscape to offer solutions.
Participate in risk engagements to improve internal processes and efficiency.
Identify and recommend opportunities for improving procedures and outcomes.
Act as a liaison to business units for the integration of the Resolver operational risk module.

Some things that would impress us:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field; a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation would be considered an asset.
3 years’ relevant experience in risk management, audit operations or a related role.
Knowledge of financial industry products, distribution, and service.

THE POSITION: The Enterprise Business Analyst (EBA) will be the liaison between the business and developers and ensure business goals and objectives are met by completing analytical, testing and deployment activities. The EBA assesses and analyzes system capabilities to bring creative technology solutions while employing robust testing and problem-solving skills. An Enterprise Business Analyst does the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

Participate in business analysis for all strategic projects. Work closely with and gather information from the business and other internal and external stakeholders to collaborate, conduct research, and document business needs and requirements for new and existing projects.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to identify, analyze and document/translate business requirements to system/functional specifications and requirements, Use Cases or User Stories.
Participate in all phases of project development (VeriPark Financial Services Platform, Microsoft D365 CRM, etc.) as required, including but not limited to scope setting, requirements gathering, testing, implementation, documentation, and communication, training, transition, and post-implementation support.
Provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders and maintain a strong working partnership to strengthen the resolution of cross-departmental issues and goals.
Problem-solving, analyzing issues and identifying creative and practical solutions that consider business requirements and technology, identifying potential system enhancements and technology improvements for enhancing operational effectiveness, and helping design, document and maintain system processes.
Test new releases, fixes, and upgrades to the system, including regression testing, liaise with third parties to troubleshoot technology production issues or implement new technology services as required.
Develop and execute a test plan strategy, prepare test cases, conduct user acceptance testing, log issues for quality assurance, and utilize tools such as SQL or Excel to create reports for business units.
Educate requestors and developers on appropriate and desirable parameters to ensure they get the necessary information. Provide support to end users on standardized and ah-hoc reports.
Resolve user support issues for technology systems and business processes. Identify technology support issues that are outside the mandate of the internal support team and transition the support issue to the appropriate party on an as-needed basis.
Participate in business initiatives and identify potential technology solutions to simplify business processes and procedures and provide input into analyzing new products/services/ opportunities to help determine alternatives or applications.
Maintain a high level of awareness of the strategic direction, project initiatives and business goals of the organization to ensure technology systems align between all functional units and overall objectives are coordinated
Maintain a thorough knowledge of policies and procedures regarding departmental operations; all work is to be completed by policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practice. Accurately and thoroughly document user support issues in a ticket tracking system for inquiries and issues to ensure prompt and efficient resolution
