Manager, Farm & Business

You will be responsible to manage and lead a team of Farm & Business Advisors in developing new business relationships and work with the team to capitalize on these opportunities while retaining existing business with members and clients.

As Manager, Farm & Business, you will coach, mentor, develop and motivate a team of professionals to meet and exceed member needs while supporting the credit union to achieve goals within all strategic priority areas.  Having the ability to support and effectively demonstrate proactive outreach to build a long-term relationship with existing members and potentially new members, you will be responsible to support the development of a strong deposit and off balance sheet portfolio and non-interest revenue streams, while effectively managing the loan portfolio as it relates to risk, pricing, diversification and quality.

You will manage and provide technical direction for the lending functions within the respective branches while holding the team accountable for annual sales and service targets and relevant MemberFirst Service Standards.

In this role, you will be responsible to review and coach the completion of Farm and Business credit within established limited or recommend to a higher approval authority, ensuring all business activities within your area of responsibility are in compliance with sound business practice, legislation, regulations, and policy and procedure.

As a leader in the Farm & Business banking team, you will participate in Internal and Executive Credit Committee and contribute to the annual budget process, managing expenses to budget while ensuring strategic objectives are met.

Post-secondary education in business or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 – 7 years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  You must possess strong leadership, organization and time management skills.  Extensive credit knowledge including an understanding of risk tolerance methodologies and strategic practices is essential.  Proven ability in sales coaching, establishing performance standards and evaluating performance is required.   If you already know about the features and benefits of credit union products and services, that is an extra bonus!

Director, Rural Tech Activation

Join our team, as the Director, Rural Tech Activation, to assist Cornerstone Credit Union in taking a leadership role to lay the foundation to a thriving entrepreneurial eco-system for AgriFoodTech startups and technology skill development. We believe this focus will contribute to the sustainability of our local economies, identify investment opportunities with the potential for a financial return, and to generate additional brand recognition that will grow our Agriculture related market share.

As a key strategic leader, you will collaborate with a multitude of external stakeholders in the region and province to discover opportunities to develop, coordinate and direct business and entrepreneurial activities that support Ag producers, Agribusiness and/or AgriFoodTech initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in Business or Agri-Business and seven to ten years of experience in a business leader function or an equivalent combination of education and experience with comprehensive understanding of agriculture and agriculture technologies or agriculture marketing and communications.  You will have a leg up if you have an MBA.  We are looking for someone with experience with start-ups and innovation who enjoys meeting new people and can leverage partnerships to play a leadership role in getting all the players in the eco-system working together in a coordinated way.  You are interested in AgTech and can assist clients to connect to the appropriate supports and resources needed to overcome the challenges of implementing technology, helping the farm and business community adopt and adapt to innovative opportunities.

Security Analyst

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to move into a new career path? We are looking for someone who is always up for a challenge, loves to figure out answers to those unique or unusual issues by coming up with innovative business solutions to become our new Security Analyst.

As the Security Analyst, you will play an integral role in protecting our most precious assets:  the data of our members, employees, and credit union and the technology that enables us to work.  You would be responsible to implement and execute our Cyber Security and Data Loss Prevention program.  You would be accountable to ensure IT security operations are carried out effectively.  Responsible to ensure all attack surfaces are covered, and that the security posture of the hardware, software and networking IT infrastructure is solid.   You would do this by conducting passive and active vulnerability scans/penetration tests and the installation of security controls.  Routinely complete critical security analyses including threat modeling, security scanning, security administration, malware analysis, secure database management/encryption of private data and provide recommendations on how to improve our overall information security posture.  You need to be confident in your knowledge such that you are able to provide unbiased information and recommendations for remediation, considering, but not bending to, those who may not appreciate change or see the importance of cyber security.

Post-secondary education degree or diploma in an IT based curriculum and at least 5 years direct IT operations experience and at least 2 years of relevant security experience, including designing and architecting solutions based on client requirements is the minimum requirement for this position. You’ll have a leg up if you have Azure and cloud security certifications, or you are already certified as a Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).  You require a well-rounded understanding of technology – from network and infrastructure to applications, identify and development.  Strong knowledge of industry security frameworks and standards including ISO 27001/2, NIST, ITIL and COBIT would be an asset.   If you know what makes Cornerstone Credit Union different and the products and services we provide, that’s even better!
