Treasury Analyst

About this Opportunity

The Treasury Analyst specializes in monitoring and managing the financial resources of the credit union. As a seasoned financial professional, you are responsible for the administration of treasury rates, cash and liquidity management, investments, and loan syndications, as well as the maintenance of the loan loss model. The Treasury Analyst analyzes, reports on, and shares insights regarding the operational and financial performance of the credit union while contributing to broader accounting and finance functions and providing support and back-up to the Manager of Finance & Accounting as required.

Working closely with the Manager of Finance & Accounting, and in compliance with policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements, this position is responsible to:

  • Monitor and manage liquidity, foreign currency requirements, and cash flow, and manage the purchase and maturity of credit union investments,
  • Monitor market interest rates and recommend strategies for product pricing,
  • Develop and implement investment strategies including the use of syndication loans, leases, credit pools, and securitization,
  • Update & maintain BankBI: Complete daily updates, manage data feeds and accounts, and analyze data within the software,
  • Perform accounting functions for loan and lease portfolios, prepare financial statements, and manage reporting and monthly remittances for off-balance sheet sold loans and brokered deposits,

The Treasury Analyst assists with:

  • Management of the credit union securitization program,
  • Reporting and data gathering for the quarterly interest rate risk simulation process,
  • Maintenance of the loan loss model including validation, data cleaning, and analysis to identify emerging risks,
  • Cyclical reporting such as PST/GST, CUDGC, Stats Canada, and CMHC reporting and the Annual Information Return for Selected Listed Financial Institutions, and
  • Assist internal/external auditors with interim and year end review.

Your Qualifications

You have a degree in accounting, finance, or economics, or a professional accounting designation with three to five years of related experience. Equivalencies considered. Preference to individuals with treasury and/or risk analysis experience. The successful candidate will be proficient in BankBI software and have expert skill in MS Excel including analysis, modelling, forecasting, and reporting. Report writing experience is required. Must have a demonstrated, on-going commitment to continuous learning and development.

  • Status: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: 75 hours Biweekly
  • Location: Hybrid: This position is enabled to work remotely and from the Lloydminster Synergy Centre. For the right candidate, working out of another Synergy branch location may be considered. Travel is required.
  • Salary: $77,400 – $96,800 annually
