Williams Lake and District Credit Union serves the communities of Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and Bella Coola, having over $400 million in assets and 11,000 members. Reporting to the Senior Systems Lead, you will provide user support, installation and maintenance of the credit union’s desktop computer systems and network, including training staff on use of the systems and other administrative support as required.

Responsibilities include workstation hardware and software support, printer hardware and software support, WAN, LAN and internet support, telephony support, and ticket tracking.

The preferred applicant will have a minimum of two years post-secondary education in information systems and three to five years of related experience. Completion of or working towards Microsoft Certification will be an asset.

Effective organizational, oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and to communicate technical practices and procedures to individuals having varying degrees of technical knowledge is also preferred.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Accountant with liaison with Supervisor Centralized Services, you will have at least five years’ experience in administration, ideally in a Credit Union or Banking environment.

This is a multi-faceted role that spans several departments within our Credit Union.

Retail Loan Administration involves member-facing activities, all of which are dealt with in a confidential, courteous and professional manner. Retail Loan Administration involves back-office support activities such as recording and processing loan applications, completing departmental reports, conducting credit checks and lien searches as well as registering and releasing security. Further duties include maintaining loan files, preparing and typing routine correspondence, monitoring for required loan account reviews while adhering to all internal policies and procedures.

Accounting and clearing related activities include conducting daily member account clearing activities and assisting with various accounting related duties which require assistance with setting up new accounting software under the guidance of management/external consultants.

The Senior Loan Administration and Accounting Clerk will coach and provide guidance to Loan Administration and Accounting Clerks and new hires.

As the ideal candidate you will have relevant tertiary education, experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central, possess excellent communication skills and have a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

The Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Manager Accounting and Centralized Services, you will have four to six years’ experience in administration ideally in a Credit Union or Banking environment.

 

You will provide prompt, professional, courteous and accurate services to internal and external members performing, overseeing and reporting on a variety of treasury and finance duties, procedures and analysis relating to the Credit Union; executing day-to-day cash forecasting processes; and making investments and maintaining financial processes and reporting.

 

As the ideal candidate you have completed a business degree or diploma with a specialization in Finance or Economics, CFA, or a professional accounting designation. One year experience in treasury, preferably in the financial services industry; knowledge of both treasury management principles and practices; asset and liability management and liquidity concepts will be a recommendation.

The Opportunity

 

This is a hands-on mid to senior generalist role and the successful applicant will be appointed at an appropriate level based on experience. The position will report to the CEO at the senior level and a Senior Administration Manager at the mid-level.

The position is available due to an approaching retirement, and we would like to make an appointment in August 2022 to allow an overlap for handover of responsibilities early in 2023.

Reporting to the Manager Accounting and Centralized Services you will possess proven interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of the Administration department while serving our internal and external members.

 

A track record of taking a project from inception to completion is clearly an asset. You will ideally have a strong background in financial services and will be responsible for:

  • the bi-weekly payroll, preparation of financial statements and daily reports, provincial and regulatory reporting (GST / PST remittances);
  • assist in the preparation of  year-end financial statements and auditing functions;

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning internally and the Provincial Branch Manager of the Wealth Management Business partner externally, the ideal candidate will have at least three years’ experience as an advisory representative at a Canadian Financial Institution providing clients or members with investment and retirement planning products and solutions.

As the ideal candidate you will possess excellent communication skills, have a commitment to delivering outstanding service, hold a mutual fund license or be IIROC licensed and hold the RIS (Responsible Investment Specialist) designation.

If you are not currently licensed, you must be willing and able to acquire the necessary licensing within 3 months of hire date and it is expected that you will acquire a professional financial planning designation within 36 months of license date.
