  • Data Definitions and Rules Management
    • Maintains a deep understanding of the business and its data needs to assist with change impact analysis and to ensure data definitions and rules accurately reflects the business needs.
  • Data Controls and Metrics Management
    • Ensures the appropriate system and process data controls are in place or gaps identified to ensure the level of data quality expected by the business.
    • Ensures appropriate metrics are identified to assess data health and identify the risks when these controls are not being effective or are missing.
  • DTGC Support and Reporting
  • Responsible for escalating data risks and issues to the DTGC and ensure decisions are documented and communicated.
  • Acts as a liaison between DTGC and Information Governance Agile team as required.

Wealth Management Advisor

The Wealth Management Advisor’s primary focus is to provide holistic planning advice and financial guidance to new, and self-sourced Mainstreet members utilizing mutual fund investment solutions. Sales efforts must be consistent with corporate vision, mission and strategic plan.

Internally the Wealth Management Advisor works in collaboration with the retail branch network and commercial lending division to ensure a team approach to member advice conversations, including providing appropriate mentoring/coaching on all wealth management products, services, and strategies –– leading to a steady stream of member referrals.

Externally, the Wealth Management Advisor will have an active community presence, building Mainstreet’s profile in the community as a professional and preferred provider of wealth management products, services, and expertise — leading to new wealth management and banking relationships.

This position requires a deep and thorough understanding of financial planning, mutual funds, the external markets, and the competition within their market.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and identify the needs of members and develop recommendations, supported by financial planning tools to assist members achieve their financial goals with an emphasis on holistic advice and mutual fund sales.
  • Actively engage in member conversations to uncover other product and service opportunities and refer members, when appropriate, to other departments with a goal of expanding existing member base, wallet share, and development of new profitable member relationships
  • Collaborate with retail and commercial advice staff in order to achieve growth targets as set out in the credit union strategic plan
  • Ensure sales processes favour and respect member objectives over sales targets
  • Seek out and capitalize on referrals from all Mainstreet staff, existing members, and outside referral sources
  • Assist in preparation of plans for business development within the community and drive the sales management process through programs of outside calls, in-branch promotions and other activities designed to expand the existing member base
  • Recommend and host financial planning seminars, provide content for Blog and Vlog posts
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed according to established guidelines and carry out responsibilities in an ethical manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP™), or Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) designation
  • MFDA licensed or licensable
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree, ideally in Commerce or Business Administration would be an asset
  • Display exceptional interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility and a strong work and service ethic

Assistant Branch Manager

The Assistant Branch Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the Member Experience Representative, Sr. Member Experience Representative and Member Service Representatives through identification of opportunities, coordination of activities, and the achievement of objectives through use of the Advice Based model. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for growth of the branch portfolio attained through increasing business with current members, referrals and proactive business development activities. Responsibilities include providing quality member service and providing value added advice to members and planning activities to ensure accomplishment of annual goals. Ensure close contact with Branch Manager to maintain branch functionality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision of front line employees (MER, Sr. MSR, MSR’s) by providing coaching, training, assistance and direction to the employee as required; responsible for performance management process and conducting performance appraisals
  • As a manager, promotes sales & service excellence, motivation and enthusiasm, product knowledge and professionalism; adheres to performance standards
  • Using the Advice Based model approach proactively market the organization’s products and services by promoting, upselling and cross selling the full range of lending and investment vehicles with emphasis on retail loans, mortgages, credit card products, lines of credit, registered and non-registered deposit and investment vehicles and sundry services

  • Working closely with the Branch Manager provide day-to-day branch operation leadership. Monitor the performance of the branch and report both successes and challenges to Branch Manager
  • Ensure all lending follows policy and maintains second highest lending authority in the branches. Ensure overall compliance of all administration.  Help to ensure staff follow risk management, security and cash management activities
  • Under direction from the Branch Manager, assist with management of the facilities and functioning of the branches during the Branch Manager’s absence
  • In concert with the Branch Manager, assist with the execution of the branch marketing program to attain loan, deposit, sundry products and member growth within set objectives
  • Refer members to Commercial & Agricultural Account Manager and Wealth Management Advisor as opportunities are identified
  • Represent the Credit Union in the community by participating in local business activities and community functions
  • Maintain a high level of education with respect to Credit Union products, services and marketing programs/strategies
  • Enter all information into “ACE” (sales, referrals, member interactions, information) that provides information to enhance the Credit Union’s opportunity to better serve the membership
  • Review and audit credit files on a regular basis; prepare and submits branch reports
  • Interpret the branch operating procedures, lending policies and security requirements and ensure that guidelines are adhered to
  • Ensure daily monitoring of the Delinquency Report. Follow up on delinquent accounts up to 30 days, contact members as required and maintain records of action taken in ACE
  • Handle member complaints in a courteous, professional manner
  • May be licensed Mutual Fund representative depending on needs of location
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma or work equivalency
  • 8+ years working in financial services (including credit management)

Job Summary:

  Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Provide financial advice to Members for investments requiring specialized services, including term deposits and mutual funds and develop these relationships to uncover additional needs and business opportunities.
  2. Prepare and present comprehensive financial plans based on a full needs analysis, offering financial solutions and recommendations to Members.
  3. Responsible to sell and cross sell all Credit Union products & services and identify referral opportunities to appropriate partners within the Credit Union.

  6. Maintain a strong level of knowledge of SRCU’s investment & wealth management related policies, procedures, established practices & documentation and act as a staff resource.
  7. Proved timely sales result reports to Branch Managers and the Director of Sales & Service.
  8. Assist in the development of branch deposit campaigns and lead their implementation.
  9. Maintain a high level of knowledge of competitor products & services; provide recommendations to the Director of Sales & Service to ensure branches remain competitive; support implementation of new products and services for SRCU
  10. Monitor to ensure all branches operate within established risk management guidelines, Anti-Money Laundering, Privacy and other applicable legislation for investments and report to appropriate departments in consultation with the Compliance Officer, Director of Sales & Service, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the Internal Auditor
