Credit Adjudicator

Reporting to the Vice President Credit, the Credit Adjudicator will be responsible for fostering internal relationships by providing exceptional service in retail lending through the provision of loan analysis and administrative support, to achieve overall growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support a relationship-based service environment
  • Identify and recommend concepts and innovative approaches that leverage corporate resources and provide productivity efficiency improvements
  • Adjudicate loan requests and credit approvals
  • Assist with syndicated loan reviews
  • Manage risk by following risk mitigation practices and monitoring processes within the loan portfolio
  • Collaborate on developing lending strategies that are consistent with vision and strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to applicable legislation and Prairie Centre policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or a combination of education and experience in the financial services industry
  • Minimum of 5 years lending experience (expert knowledge of consumer and agricultural lending with a sound understanding of commercial lending)
  • Proficient in analysis of complex financial statements, credit granting, and risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with an aptitude for relationship-building
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and numeric reasonability
  • Ability to prioritize work requirements to meet deadlines and time constraints

Investment Specialist

The PersonYou are a patient Master Gardener, planting seeds of knowledge, cultivating relationships, and encouraging thriving finances.  You understand that member portfolios, like tender plants, take time and TLC to establish roots and grow strong.   As the ground is prepared and trust deepens, you assist members in selecting the investments that will bear the best fruit for their tastes and climate.  A wise horticulturalist, your specialized knowledge in varieties and maturities is foundational to the advice you provide. 

The Position:  The Investment Specialist must be friendly and genuinely interested in discovering member’s current, on-going and future needs, and finding the best solutions.  Lots of attention is spent on building and maintaining relationships seeking to help and not pressure members thereby fostering the relationship.  Detailed work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently.  Adherence to established guidelines and procedures is important, while working with and for others.  This is a permanent full time (37.5 hours per week) position.

As a member of the Investment team, the Investment Specialist:

Lender

The Person: You are the special teams coach juggling expertise and specialties depending on what is required for the situation and member.  You are quick and ready to act because delays cost time and money.  You are prepared to tackle whatever lending challenge you encounter to help the farmer or business owner grow and improve their operation.  You have no problem running out to meet your members at their farm or office.  When requests for help are received you are quick to run with them and punt preconceived notions out of the way to really understand the request and focus on addressing it. 

 

The Position:  The Lender  is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week)

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the legal and legislative requirements related to lending is essential.  Advanced ability in interpreting complex financial statements, assessing risk, and determining product/service opportunities are strongly preferred. Previous lending experience in the oil and gas industry will be considered an asset.

Some of the key responsibility areas of the Lending Analyst and Underwriter is to support the overall management of a sizable portfolio of retail, agriculture and commercial accounts that exhibit a degree of complexity. The focus of the position will be on supporting both the Lending & Business Relationship Advisors in financial data input, financial analysis, and credit submission preparation. The Lending Service Analyst and Underwriter is responsible for managing the annual review process and on qualifying, converting new members and prospects together with deposit gathering. We want to ensure our member-owners’ financial lives are better because they entrusted us.
Not everyone will be suited for this role. To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with:

Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years progressive experience in financial analysis and managing a diverse portfolio in a business and retail banking environment or a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities.

Education: Post secondary education in legal, agriculture, accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent work experience. Completion of or enrolment in a Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) would be an asset. A demonstrated on-going commitment to life-long learning. Applicable education or similar field. Knowledge of lending products is a must.
