The PersonYou are a patient Master Gardener, planting seeds of knowledge, cultivating relationships, and encouraging thriving finances.  You understand that member portfolios, like tender plants, take time and TLC to establish roots and grow strong.   As the ground is prepared and trust deepens, you assist members in selecting the investments that will bear the best fruit for their tastes and climate.  A wise horticulturalist, your specialized knowledge in varieties and maturities is foundational to the advice you provide. 

The Position:  The Investment Specialist must be friendly and genuinely interested in discovering member’s current, on-going and future needs, and finding the best solutions.  Lots of attention is spent on building and maintaining relationships seeking to help and not pressure members thereby fostering the relationship.  Detailed work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently.  Adherence to established guidelines and procedures is important, while working with and for others.  This is a permanent full time (37.5 hours per week) position.

As a member of the Investment team, the Investment Specialist:

 

  • Actively grows, develops, and manages a portfolio of member investments and relationships.
  • Requires a high degree of specialized knowledge to analyze member needs, assist members by outlining benefits and alternatives, and advise members on the best investment options and ongoing investment services.
  • Is professional, proactive, and dedicated to serving in the best interest of the member.
  • Promotes Unity Credit Union and maintains active involvement in the organization and community.

 

A Mutual Funds license is required for this position, or a commitment to obtain mutual fund license in the immediate future.  Relevant education and financial work experience are strongly preferred.

The Person: You are the special teams coach juggling expertise and specialties depending on what is required for the situation and member.  You are quick and ready to act because delays cost time and money.  You are prepared to tackle whatever lending challenge you encounter to help the farmer or business owner grow and improve their operation.  You have no problem running out to meet your members at their farm or office.  When requests for help are received you are quick to run with them and punt preconceived notions out of the way to really understand the request and focus on addressing it. 

 

The Position:  The Lender  is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week)

 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the legal and legislative requirements related to lending is essential.  Advanced ability in interpreting complex financial statements, assessing risk, and determining product/service opportunities are strongly preferred. Previous lending experience in the oil and gas industry will be considered an asset.

  • Takes a proactive approach to growing the loan portfolio, nurturing member relationships, and anticipating financial needs and offering solutions.

The Lending Service Analyst and Underwriter is responsible for managing the annual review process and on qualifying, converting new members and prospects together with deposit gathering. Not everyone will be suited for this role. To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with:

Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years progressive experience in financial analysis and managing a diverse portfolio in a business and retail banking environment or a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities.

Education: Post secondary education in legal, agriculture, accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or equivalent work experience. Completion of or enrolment in a Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) would be an asset. A demonstrated on-going commitment to life-long learning. Applicable education or similar field. Knowledge of lending products is a must.

  • Create specifications and business process documentation for required APIs and code-development for advanced automations.

What we are looking for . . . .

To be considered for our Enterprise Content Management Specialist position, you must have:

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business
  • A minimum of 5 + years of managing or system administration experience with SharePoint and/or Hyland Onbase ECM technologies, or an equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Online and/or Hyland OnBase is preferred and will be a requirement to obtain certification within 2 years
  • Experience with Information Architecture and Process Automation experience is an asset
  • Agile/Scrum certification is an asset
  • Advanced analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • A highly self-motivated and directed individual

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Build a coaching culture to support a team of specialists to solve their own problems, make their own decisions and own their personal development. Provide your team with experiential learning opportunities.
  • Support the development and messaging of the brand narrative ensuring consistent alignment to Cornerstone Credit Union brand, vision, purpose, values and strategies.
  • Develop, execute and manage marketing programs and campaigns utilizing data to provide members with advice and financial literacy in the moment the members need it. Develop campaign reports and data analysis to monitor growth, member loyalty and overall campaign success.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of our member or general market research initiatives. Analyze primary and secondary research, prepare recommendations for action and execute approved plan to improve the overall brand experience for our members.
  • Stay current on market trends and competitive activity.
  • Lead the development of department budgets and tactical plans and monitor performance in relation to budget and plans.

What we are looking for . . . .

The ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in Marketing and/or Communications plus 5 to 7 years of job-related experience in marketing, brand strategy or digital media or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The incumbent must have a proven ability to work cross-functionally, be a creative thinker and problem solver, possess effective communication skills, have project management experience with a solid understanding of project management principles and techniques, and be an analytical thinker who is able to identify long-term opportunities and trends.
