A typical day may look like:

  • Engaging with business and agribusiness members and potential members to understand their business goals and advise on lending & other financial needs.
  • Analyzing financial information, issuing loans and reviewing accounts within your portfolio to ensure terms and conditions continue to be met.
  • Promoting our credit union within the community in a variety of ways including support for business development activities, volunteerism, phone calls, emails, and participation in campaigns.
  • Mentoring and supporting team members for success.

Qualifications:

  • Related post-secondary education (e.g. Business Diploma) and 5 years of senior lending experience are required. Equivalencies may be considered.
  • Must have work experience / education in the area(s) of business &/or agricultural lending with an understanding of lending requirements, rules and regulations.
  • A solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Microsoft Teams or other virtual meeting tools. Preference for applicants with customer management software experience.

The position is also responsible for collection activity and cross-selling the full range of Credit Union products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of experience, consumer, agricultural, and/or commercial lending and one year of related post-secondary education (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Ability to interpret complex member financial information, assess risk and determine product/service opportunities.
  • Proven success working in a sales, service and goal oriented environment.
  • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in investments and/or mutual funds an asset. Strong preference to applicants with investment experience as this role has the potential to transition to a Financial Service Representative.

Agriculture and Commercial Loans Officer

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of a portfolio of Agriculture and Commercial accounts that exhibit a high degree of complexity and value to Edam Credit Union.  The focus of this position is to use an excellent degree of knowledge and expertise to assess and anticipate member’s needs, and recommend credit solutions to meet those needs, while also meeting their broader business objectives.

Working as part of a team, you will:

  • Collect documentation, complete financial analysis, calculate debt servicing capacity and evaluate collateral security and write up loan applications in compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies. You will recommend credit structure and pricing based on consideration of risk and relationship, with the full understanding of the members’ needs and knowledge of Edam’s suite of credit products and lending policies.
  • Interpret loan reports and identify further action required to address problem areas such as pending delinquency; monitor delinquent accounts, work with member to develop remedial plans to mitigate risk of loss; initiate and participate in all collection activities including legal actions.

Senior Credit Analyst (Full-time, Permanent)

This position provides independent, objective review and adjudication of incoming equipment lease applications. The Senior Credit Analyst evaluates risk implications, approves or declines within credit limit and makes credit recommendations and escalations as required.  As a key member of the front office, the Senior Analyst is responsible for financial analysis, assessment of credit reports, research of equipment and industry and approving and declining applications.

Key Outcomes:

The primary focus of this position is to manage and support in-depth analysis and adjudication of equipment financing applications.  This role will assess and determine appropriate transaction structure and pricing to ensure compliance with the Bank’s policies and guidelines.  The Senior Analyst identifies and advises on terms, conditions, and collateral requirements for the transaction decision, as well as opportunities for cross-selling and/or alternative solutions to meet client’s needs.  This role works with internal groups and clients to assess lease opportunities, and deals with customer inquiries and concerns.

In addition, the Senior Analyst approves credit within designation limits and prepares formal presentations to support lease applications presented to Credit Risk.  As a senior member of the team, the Analyst provides credit risk coaching and advice to the credit team to increase awareness of risk, policy, and knowledge of structuring transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration/Commerce or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years commercial credit experience; leasing experience an asset

THE POSITION: 
The Recovery Specialist II will review and discuss collection activities with consumer, agricultural, and commercial lenders on loans in arrears and will manage and conduct resolution activities when required. This individual will ensure collection activities are in compliance with all legislation, regulations, policies and procedures. A Recovery Specialist II does the following:

  • Initiates contact with delinquent members to discuss repayment plans and financial situations
  • Reviews, discusses, develops and implements realization strategies on delinquent loans
  • Prepares court related documents as required and provides resource to legal counsel
  • Aids in the collection of rent, maintenance, and sale of foreclosed property
  • Provides expertise and acts as a resource to lenders on collection activities
  • Recognizes member needs and promotes and cross-sells credit union deposit services
  • Assists in fraud mitigation activities
