About The Role
The Accounts Payable Officer will help process, track and record payments in an accurate, efficient
and timely manner and will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions and reporting,
keeping us on track, on time and on good terms with our valued clients. This full‐time opportunity
would be based out of our Saskatoon Head office.
Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:
• Open new bank, custodian, and investment manager accounts and prepare trust opening documents including client trustee, elected leaders and, membership lists (including minors)
• Conduct on‐going file maintenance and update account information as necessary (i.e. client names, addresses, emails, phone numbers etc.)
• Review client invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
• Prepare client EFT, wire, and cheque payments for review by the Trust Officers
• Perform client invoice and general‐ledger data‐entry including client cheque logs
• Prepare client financial reporting quarterly and annual packages with guidance of the Trust Officers and distribute to relevant client representatives
• Ensure accounting and financial record keeping for each client is kept current and properly documented in the accounting (QBO) software
• Maintain client Member monthly inflation protection hedge and per capita distribution interest accruals with guidance of the Trust Officers
• Prepare monthly client work in progress statements and quarterly client invoices for review by Trust Officers
• Assemble quarterly client Minor per capita distribution payment packages ensuring complete documentation is received prior to payment
• Work with the Trust Officers to prepare the financial sections of the annual client trust reports
• Prepare written procedural documents, policies, and memos that support the Accounts Payable Officer role as needed
• Participate in intra and inter‐departmental meetings as requested
About You:
• Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ of directly related experience
• Experience in accounts payable (or accounts receivable)
• Experience with QBO, Excel, Word and online platforms
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritize work routine
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and company information
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
