We are seeking a Commercial Syndications Specialist to help us continue our rich tradition of serving our community – since 1943!
As a Commercial Syndications Specialist, you will be essential in managing and driving the growth of our syndicated loan portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting commercial credit, conducting in-depth analysis, and collaborating with syndicate partners to evaluate and recommend opportunities for purchase or sale for Synergy Credit Union.
Key Responsibilities and Contributions:
- Facilitate origination activities, oversees the review, assessment and underwriting of high-quality commercial loan assets and provides effective relationship and portfolio management while building and maintaining a commercial loan and mortgage portfolio that meets internal syndication needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with syndicate partners, credit unions, and other financial institutions to source new loan, sale, and purchase opportunities
- Monitor and assess the performance, compliance, and risk of the syndicated loan portfolio, implementing strategies to optimize portfolio quality and returns.
- Provide comprehensive support to both internal and external stakeholders as needed throughout the loan syndication process
- Engages Credit Unions, third party suppliers, and external partners via a variety of different means with the purpose of expanding the syndicated lending program.
- Works collaboratively with various departments throughout Synergy to identify business opportunities that benefit both the Credit Union and the member.
- Monitors and identifies industry trends and recommends action by Synergy as appropriate to both capitalize on opportunities and effectively manage evolving risks and regulatory changes.
Your Qualifications:
- A degree in finance, business, or related field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial real estate banking, investment banking, credit syndication, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
- Preference may be given to a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or MBA.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial markets, banking products, and syndication processes, including knowledge of loan structuring, risk assessment, credit analysis, and regulatory compliance.

More details:
- Status: Permanent Full-time
- Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly. This position is expected to work with a high degree of flexibility in hours of work and travel.
- Location: Hybrid work arrangement. For the right candidate, this position is enabled to work remotely or from any Synergy branch location. Travel is required.
- Salary: $89,000 – $111,300 annually

The Location
