QUALIFICATIONS:

You are a results-oriented professional and effective decision maker with a commitment to furthering the reputation of the organization in the community.  Your positive, adaptable approach equips you with strong relationship building skills and the interpersonal perceptiveness to be an effective team member. You are dedicated to a holistic planning approach working with our members.

A minimum of five years’ experience in providing holistic financial advice to clients in the areas of financial planning, investment, risk assessment and insurance options is preferred. In addition, you will hold or are about to complete the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and licensed to sell securities as well as life insurance within BC. Preference will be given to those candidates that hold a post-secondary designation.

The successful candidate will have a loyal book of households to start with and to build from to create a successful book/practice from.

COMPENSATION:

Current annual salary range:  $74,000 – $80,000

Annual salary commensurate to education and experience.

  • Analyze Affinity’s balance sheet and treasury portfolio through an Interest Rate Risk lens to identify opportunities to employ both on and off-balance sheet hedging strategies.
  • Supports macroeconomic research and analysis in the delivery of insights related to monetary policy, interest rates and key economic indicators relevant to treasury management.

Primary Purpose

  • Develop and implement Human Resources programs to maintain and enhance a positive work environment and ensure the credit union fulfills its responsibility as an employer.
  • Work closely with third party technology providers to ensure the technology is meeting the credit unions needs.
  • Oversee the implementation and evaluation of annual and long-term credit union marketing plan.
  • Lead and oversee a variety of projects aimed at enhancing the member experience and operational capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience at a management level, preferably within the financial service sector.
  • Strong understanding of credit union operations is preferred.

The Commercial Insurance Broker manages a portfolio of commercial accounts and has a primary focus on business development for Northern Savings Insurance Services.

 

Here’s what you will be doing: (Key Accountabilities)

  • Develop and manage commercial accounts while actively seeking new business to meet sales targets.
  • Generate leads from personal contacts, outbound calls, networking, client referrals, and other sources.
  • Profile members to determine current and future needs, provide comprehensive insurance advice, prepare estimates, and sell commercial insurance to both new and existing members.
  • Work on a variety of commercial insurance lines, including property, general liability, packages, auto, business owner’s policies, directors’ and officers’ coverage, employment practices liability, errors and omissions, inland marine, and bonds.
  • Meet with clients in and out of the office as needed to establish connections, determine coverage requirements, and offer basic risk management recommendations.
  • Utilize negotiating skills to find creative insurance solutions for complex risks.
  • Prepare the required paperwork for a portfolio of commercial member requests, such as routine policy updates, additions, deletions, renewals, and cancellations.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist members with their claims while adhering to proper follow-up procedures, ensuring accurate claims servicing.
  • Follow up on commercial line referrals and facilitate referrals to relevant NSCU staff.
  • Meets compliance, confidentiality and regulatory requirements and abides by management policy and office procedures.
  • Provide guidance to other insurance employees as required.

 

What we are looking for (Qualifications):

Education:

  • High school diploma is a minimum requirement.
  • Completion of post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Level II insurance broker license.
  • CAIB, CIP or FCIP designations would be preferred.
  • Completion of sales training is a requirement.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Experience:

  • Previous commercial insurance sales and service experience is required.
  • 5 years’ personal and commercial lines experience.

Credit Adjudicator

The Position:

The Credit Adjudicator is a motivated, career-minded Credit Adjudicator responsible for evaluating and approving credit applications which exceed lender’s or branch limits. Additional responsibilities will include assistance in developing and implementation of credit policies and procedures as well as assisting our training department with lender focused training. Assist with special projects, and new business development tools and programs as required. Provide advice and direction to lenders and credit analyst regarding the analysis, structuring and negotiation of credit applications and related documentation.

Under executive direction, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Credit, the Credit Adjudicator will evaluate and approve credit applications within designated limits. Credit applications which exceed the credit adjudicator limits will be submitted to the Senor Vice President of Credit and/or Credit Committee. The position is responsible for ensuring that the approved applications meet acceptable risk requirements and provide a reasonable, risk‐based return on investment, in accordance with prudent lending practice, corporate lending policy, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements.

This is a full time permanent position.

The Person:

The Support Services Analyst is responsible for the effective operation of the banking system, digital banking and help desk support across the organization.  This individual supports banking system project management, digital banking projects, as well as communication with the team, business unit leaders, and end users.  This individual will support and execute banking system-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative support for daily operational activities of the support services department.  This person will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions that will support corporate goals and objectives.  This person will also support banking system policies, procedures, and best practices.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

This is a full time permanent position.

The Person:

  • Ability to conduct and direct research into banking system issues and products as required.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences.
  • Able to stay abreast of current and future technological developments or trends.
  • Skill in teamwork, communication, innovation, adaptability, and decision making, along with member focus, results orientation, and business sense.
  • Good overall knowledge of technology and associated tools and platforms (cView, cumulus, SharePoint etc).
  • Cooperative or Credit Union industry experience is a benefit.

Compensation:

  • Salary range $42,000 to $52,800/annually

Engagement Manager – Full-Time, PPJV

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

ROLE SUMMARY

The relationship manager is responsible for fostering and maintaining strong relationships with credit union partners within their designated region.  The primary objective is to drive business growth of PPJV’s payment offerings and enhanced member satisfaction through strategic collaboration and effective communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with credit unions within the designated region with the goal of providing guidance and support for PPJV’s products and services while ensuring they are meeting the needs of credit unions and their members.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for credit unions and liaison between integration partners and PPJV team members addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Build rapport with key internal and external stakeholders, including credit union executives.
  • Collaborate with credit unions to develop and implement strategies that drive business growth and enhance member satisfaction.
  • Educate credit union partners on the full range of PPJV products and services and the resources available to them.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including delivery, operations, business readiness, and communications, to ensure alignment and support for credit union partners.
  • Attend and participate in regional credit union events and conferences that add value to the relationship between credit union partners and PPJV.
  • Manage the cadence for interactions with credit unions for PPJV products and services including the tracking and communication of potential risks/issues and feedback while supporting timely business and tactical messaging for credit unions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in business administration, finance, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in banking, financial services, payments, or credit union management (experience in credit union system is preferred).
  • Knowledge of the credit union system and payment methods is preferred.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients or partners.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be bondable.

This position is currently designated as a remote position. The successful candidate will be located in Saskatchewan and be willing to travel to credit unions in Saskatchewan and other locations for conferences and in person meetings.
