An exciting opportunity exists, for an experienced Retail Account Manager to join Beaumont Credit Union Located in Beaumont, Alberta (10 minutes south of the City of Edmonton).  Beaumont Credit Union is a full-service open bond Credit Union serving Beaumont and surrounding area residents - Assets $220 million, loans $172 million, deposits $199 million, staff of 33.

Technical Know How

  • Advice

Driven by a keen understanding of how to advise Members achieve their business and personal goals.  Take an advice approach to ensure the needs of the members are met while ensuring the best interest of the credit union is also achieved.

  • Sales

Disciplined pro-active approach to member engagement to increase market share. Engage the sales team when identifying potential referral opportunities.

  • Credit Services

Maximize the members financial health by recommending and advising on the best credit solution to meet their needs;

Ensure profitability of loan through application of loan rates, service charges and overdue interest; conduct interviews, cross-sell and upsell creditor insurance products with every new or renewal application.

  • Portfolio Management

    Achieve or exceed annual portfolio targets by networking with existing members, referrals and potential members; Maintain a disciplined approach to proactive sales and renewal processes.

Establish, develop and maintain regular member contact by providing valuable timely and pro-active advice and recommendations; Identify and act upon opportunities to promote BCU products and services to be both favorable to the member and organization.

Provide individualized financial counselling, such as debt consolidation, and information to members on loan services and deposit products offered.  Use financial knowledge to effectively position products and services;

Actively promote the credit union in the community, solicit new business opportunities through personal contact, cold calling, report analysis and follow up on referrals from other staff.Identify and make quality referrals for estate planning, insurance  sales, advanced investment opportunities and wealth management.



MUST HAVE skills and abilities

  • One year post-secondary education combined with four to six years of job-related/industry experience

  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Canadian Investment Funds Course to support MFDA licensing

  • Comfort and ability to work with a high level of detail/accuracy

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • A combination of post-secondary education and work experience will be considered

  • Comfort in working within a high member engagement role

  • Completion of CUIC general studies program is preferred or working towards.
