Purpose of the Position:

This position supports the successful execution of the People Strategy for Concentra. This role not only has its own direct reports and peers that it supporting, but by extension it supports every employee at Concentra by ensuring we provide the right total rewards, HR policies, programs and systems to enable every employee to do their best and every leader to lead skillfully.

The role supports the ongoing evaluation and improvement of people programs and services, including compensation.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities:

In this position, you will provide leadership to all members of the HR team in the delivery of efficient, effective human resource programs and services by delegating, assigning, and monitoring compensation program administration to HR team members, with the collaboration of the VP, People Strategy. You will also work very closely with the VP, People Strategy on compensation design; as our company's culture continues to evolve, we require someone who is skilled at designing Compensation and total rewards packages that reinforce desired culture. We also require an individual who is effective at resolving internal team issues, and seizing opportunities to build and sustain a cohesive, synergistic People Office.

The Manager, People Programs & Services will delegate, assign, and monitor workflow to HR team members, with the collaboration and support of Business Partners. You will also participate in and contribute to strategic HR and organizational development and change decisions, provide direction and guidance to HR team on work activities and priorities, and oversee the administration of corporate programs including the STIP, LTIP, pension, salary administration, and vacation balances, etc. 

You will provide leadership in delivering, maintaining and enhancing people programs and services in a manner that aligns with business plans and the work environment, and models the Concentra leadership principles and desired culture, and provide leadership in the design, execution and maintenance of the HRIS system (Success Factors). 

This position will implement, and support the continued evolution of human resource programs and policies to help maximize Concentra business results by understanding Concentra business model, and strategic business initiatives, collaborating with others to develop and implement changes/enhancements to people programs, policies, processes or technology to ensure continued efficient delivery of HR services to Concentra. You will also ensure effectiveness of team by creating success measures; and monitoring and tracking progress. You will ensure HR programs and policies adhere to legislation and other requirements and assess corporate or employee risk in a given HR situation and ensure the HR team responds appropriately. 

You will develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships by ensuring the People Office team delivers value to its leaders and employees, taking the approach that it is our priority to ENABLE employees and leaders to do their best. You will do this by developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, supervisors, and leaders across the organization, consulting with multiple business stakeholders to proactively seek to evolve and adapt HR service delivery to be more effective and efficient. You will also recommend contracts with vendors, suppliers and strategic partners who provide HR-related services to the People Office and/or the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seven years progressive HR experience

  • Three years supervisory experience, leading a team

  • Completion of Human Resources degree (or a comparable combination of education and experience), or a combination of education/professional designations (e.g., CCP)

  • Completion of the CPHR professional designation preferred

  • Experience designing compensation programs that drive desired behaviors that link to our desired Culture
