The Opportunity

We are looking for a creative and passionate individual to join our People & Culture team and grow Copperfin’s reputation as a preferred employer in Northwestern Ontario. This is the role for you if you believe developing talent and supporting people in their personal growth is key to an amazing organization.  This position can be located in either Kenora or Thunder Bay, dependent upon the successful candidate.

Reporting to the VP People and Culture, the Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for implementing and improving programs to build workforce capability and create a culture of learning, including:

  • Partner with leaders to identify needs and create learning strategies to enable the organization to meet and exceed business goals

  • Design, develop and manage creative learning & development initiatives

  • Contribute to improvements in systems and work processes

  • Provide coaching and post training support to ensure successful transfer of learning to the workplace

  • Further develop the onboarding experience, coaching and training for new hires

  • Establish measures to track, monitor and evaluate success of training programs

  • Support in the preparation and management of Copperfin's learning & development budget

  • Exemplify a positive attitude to work and develop positive working relationships

The Individual

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources with a minimum of two years of job-related experience

  • Completion of or working towards CHRP/CHRL designation is required

  • Understanding of learning development and talent programs

  • Strong presentation, delivery, communication and business writing skills

  • Excellent process and analytical skills to identify gaps and create improvements

  • Exceptional people leadership skills including coaching and empowering team members to achieve corporate results

  • Proven track record creating, delivering, and training successfully in fast paced environments

  • Ability to work in a team oriented-environment

The salary for this position will commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
