We currently have an opportunity to hire a Senior Business Analyst in our Technology Solutions department.  The incumbent works strategically and tactically with all KSCU business units to identify and analyze technical and business requirements through elicitation, analysis, modeling, problem solving and produces technical and business requirements documentation.

What does this role do?

  • Actively participates in the Enterprise Applications Steering Committee

  • Analyzes operational procedures and identifies the technical requirements

  • Creates Business Requirement Documents that include business impact and cost benefit analysis

  • Confers with Development and Quality Assurance personnel to confirm the feasibility of proposed solutions

  • Prepares, where required, bid (RFI, RFP, RFQ) documents

  • Works closely with the Development and Quality Assurance teams, during the development cycle

  • Participates in developing acceptance tests for Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Coordinates and tracks the solutions from design through implementation

  • Works with all levels of staff to gather business and technical requirements

  • Prepares and submits regular status reports to Technology Solutions & the Steering Committee

  • Works with the business units to develop a communication plan for distributing information

  • Provides process management, analysis, modeling and related business processes for business analysis activities

  • Provides assessments of existing business processes and models of re-engineered processes for end users

  • Conducts walk-throughs of detailed models and proposed solutions to organization managers

  • Communicates and collaborates with branch/department representatives

  • Works closely with the Project Managers, subject matter experts and the project core team

  • Acts as a project advocate, providing project information and support toward the purpose and deliverables of any project within the Project Management Office

What skills and education will you require?

Must Have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or Business Analyst Certificate Program (BACP) or working towards completion. IIBA Certification is an asset

  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in the Information Technology field with increasing responsibilities in analytical and project management roles

  • Project management experience to manage project teams from initiation to the completion of each project

  • Demonstrate a professional level of competence in the principles and practices of business analysis as well as demonstrate knowledge of the skills, tools and methodology of business analysis

  • Working knowledge of the project life cycles and processes

  • A team player, providing guidance and instruction to project resources

  • Proven ability to be thorough and concise and be an effective communicator, both written and verbal

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • An in-depth knowledge of Microsoft products and database applications

  • Knowledge of the system development life cycle

  • Superior customer service skills combined with the ability to work with staff from all levels of the organization

  • Ability to create and use database query tools

  • Able to analyze and solve complex problems, provide guidance and instruction to non-technical users

  • Proven ability to be thorough, and use imagination and logic in processing

Nice to Have:

  • Five to eight years’ experience in the financial industry with an understanding of standard banking processes and fiduciary controls, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
