THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, in this critical role you will be an active and collaborative member of the senior executive team and a key partner in the development and implementation of corporate strategy.  You will be directly responsible for planning and directing the assigned areas of WCU’s operational policies, objectives and initiatives.

You will also provide strategic leadership in delivery of services to members and customers in the areas of branch operations, advisory services, lending services, member support services and member Omni channels; ensuring alignment with WCU’s strategic direction and the short and long term business priorities.

YOU BRING:

You are an experienced operations leader, with demonstrated success in leading financial services teams through change and growth in pursuit of outstanding member service. Your background likely includes:

  • MBA or University degree in Business Administration, Finance or equivalent and a commitment to attain an MBA.
  • CUIC Management Level Designation.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a Credit Union or related financial institution with a minimum of five years in a senior management level. Experience as a CEO in a multi branch mid-size credit union would be a definite asset.
  • Experience in developing and executing corporate level strategy.
  • 5 years’ experience leading larger teams/departments.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • A deep understanding of member relationship management and member needs.
  • Strong knowledge of fiscal management and responsibility, business finance, capital funding, contracts, and partnerships.
  • Sound understanding of risk management.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • A commitment to embrace self-directed team management, as well as continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
