We are seeking a Risk Services Coordinator to assist in a variety of tasks to support risk management throughout the credit union system of British Columbia. The position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a flare for service, extensive software skills, and strong communication skills. This position is flexible to accommodate an individual looking for work-life balance through a shorter work week.

The Risk Services Coordinator performs administrative, office and support activities for the organization and is the first responder for a number of activities. Key to this role is the efficient and accurate coordination of various functions related to the Master Bond Program.  This includes data entry, reporting, responding to email and telephone inquiries and requests and system updates, Office duties include fielding and responding to inquiries through email and phone, assisting with meeting and event coordination, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations.

The position reports to SVP, Finance & Risk.

Key Responsibilities

Master Bond Program:

  • Responding to and liaising with the Credit Unions on loss events and reporting insured losses
  • Data entry and report creation
  • System administration
  • Coordinating communication and reporting regarding the program

Administrative and coordination support:

  • Ensures visitors are greeted, assisted and supervised as required
  • Respond and direct phone calls, postal mail and email
  • Coordinate the purchase and delivery of supplies
  • Direct calls and/or respond to inquiries
  • Maintain confidential records and files
  • Draft, review and edit reports, and other correspondence

Position requirements

  • A self-starter, capable of identifying the need for and taking independent action
  • A desire to learn and develop new skills
  • A curiosity about technology and are proficient with computer programs that include Microsoft office, Adobe
  • An administrative expert in office organization, support and data input
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to interact with external stakeholders and staff both in person and by phone
  • A strong customer service orientation and a problem solving approach
  • Demonstrated planning skills and superior attention to detail
  • Understand and hold as a priority, the need for confidentiality
  • A desire to work as part of a team and create organizational success

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least three years of office experience.
  • Two years of customer service experience
  • A diploma in general administration or a related discipline is preferred.
