As a member of Macklin Credit Union’s executive leadership team and reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager (AGM) will be a strong lender and a strong leader. This role oversees and manages the commercial, agricultural, consumer and mortgage lending of the credit union, including responsibility for the growth, development and administration of the lending portfolio, and management of the top 5 – 10% of the commercial loan accounts. In addition, the AGM is responsible and accountable for the credit union’s Member Services and Deposit Services Departments, including oversight and management of departmental activities and providing leadership to the Sr. Member Service Representative (Team Lead) and Account Manager – Investments.

Solid knowledge and experience related to all areas of lending as well as exposure to the deposit services, and branch operations sides is required in order to resolve complex enquiries and problems, analyze issues and provide solutions within the context of business objectives and impact on the relevant departments. All activities will be performed in adherence to profitability and risk acceptance standards, and in compliance with the credit union’s business strategy and applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.


The successful candidate will have six (6) years of progressive managerial lending experience with lending limits and three years of progressive financial experience, although equivalent combinations may be considered. As well, the successful incumbent will have experience in and a thorough understanding of the credit union system including operations, principles and values. A university degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, economics or a related field will be deemed an asset.

Our ideal candidate will also possess:

· Advanced understanding of lending policies and procedures

· Thorough knowledge of insured lending programs including CMHC/Genworth

· Proven grasp of personal and business lending, deposit policies, practices, procedures and general branch operations

· Solid insight into the competitive environment in the financial marketplace, and local communities within the region.
