Administration Office, Salmon Arm

The Marketing Engagement Specialist supports membership engagement, retention and growth via social media, website and digital channels and through community involvement activities. The incumbent will be fundamental in introducing new features and campaigns internally and externally, particularly with the goal of improving the digital member experience. Strengthening SASCU’s reputation both via public relations and social media communities will be a key goal.  The incumbent will measure and report on performance results relative to established performance metrics and strategic goals.

The successful candidate will be accountable to:


· Project manage new or revised channels, products, features or service implementations and roll outs; test new features; communicate, and engage branch and applicable department staff;

· Develop project and campaign communications, both internal and external, including website landing page(s);

· Act as primary contact for Central 1, plus related external contractors and suppliers;

· Provide insights to management on e-channel usability and recommendations to enhance the experience for members;

· Responsible for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) features and functions;

Social Media

· Research best practices and provide input to the Marketing Manager regarding the social media strategy for SASCU;

· Undertake activities to build online following and enhance SASCU’s position as trusted guide via social media and other digital channels including website;

· Execute the Social Media Strategy including sourcing, writing, creating and coordinating content material;

· Maintain presence in online communities, monitor comments, queries and requests and ensure timely and appropriate follow-up;

SASCU’s Marketing Ambassadors

· Lead engagement and development of the Marketing Ambassador team;

· Coordinate and facilitate team meetings as appropriate to share information and develop the potential of the Marketing Ambassador team;

· Work with Marketing Ambassadors to provide regular communication and face-to-face interaction with branch staff.


· Lead engagement and development of SASCU Community Crew;

· Plan, coordinate and implement SASCU’s visibility and appropriate participation in projects, activities, events, and other supported initiatives, particularly those where sponsorship partnerships have been established;

· Participate in quarterly Community Relations Committee Meetings;

· Inform applicants of >$500 donation and sponsorship decisions; coordinate recognition and related details;

· Support and coordinate SASCU’s financial literacy workshop program.

Education, Training and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

A degree or diploma in Marketing or Digital Marketing, plus 3-5 years related experience, preferably in a financial institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of product lines and business processes in the financial sector and front-line experience providing financial services to customers is an asset.

Advanced MS Office skills are required and experience with Adobe Analytics, HTML coding and analytical and reporting software is preferred. Demonstrated experience using social media tools to track engagement and sentiment along with the knowledge and understanding of market/customer analysis principles, methodologies, tools and techniques is an asset.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to build relationships and generate enthusiasm and participation from others. Additionally, event and/or volunteer coordination experience is considered an asset. A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
