HR2018.001 Procedures Analyst, Full Time


The Procedures Analyst will recommend, document and implement appropriate new and/or revised policies and procedures for the SASCU operations manual to ensure that staff have the tools and information they require to complete their duties efficiently and within established guidelines. The Procedures Analyst will make balanced procedural recommendations to the Manager, Risk and Procedures that reflect SASCU’s corporate focus on member centricity and continuous improvement while still meeting our regulatory compliance obligations.

The successful candidate will be accountable to:

  • Monitor and identify internal and external situations that may result in updates to SASCU’s operations manual;   
  • Recommend required changes to Manager, Risk and Procedures, consult with key stakeholders (branch staff, supervisors and managers as appropriate), document and implement new or revised policies and procedures for the SASCU operations manual;
  • Customize, design and create forms for SASCU’s operations manual to support efficiency of operations; 
  • Update SASCU’s forms library with new and/or revised Central 1 forms as requested by staff or as otherwise necessary;  
  • Respond to operations specific queries from branch staff, supervisors and managers and provide guidance to assist them in locating required information and resources; 
  • Undertake and participate in operational initiatives and projects as assigned. This may include researching best practices on operational processes and being operational representative on project teams and adhoc meetings;
  • Liaise with Central 1 operations and compliance departments regarding new and anticipated changes for Central 1 operations manual.  This may include attending Central 1 Operations Manual Advisory Group to receive and provide input;
  • Liaise with Training and assist with training of new/changes procedures as required;
  • May provide back-up for assigned duties in absence of Manager, Risk and Procedures as required. 

Education, Training and Experience:

A post-secondary diploma in business or communications, plus 4-6 years’ experience in branch operations, ideally including cash, investments and lending services is required.  A solid working knowledge of the credit union banking system, retail products, processes, terminology and current procedures is an asset. Some exposure to clearing/support services is advantageous.
