Lending Services Team Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership capacity in a busy administration department. The Lending Services Team Leader is responsible for providing leadership, coaching and development of a team of Credit Administrators to ensure BlueShore Financials’ service standards are maintained and Client Intimate service experience is delivered. In addition, assists the Manager, Lending Services with the overall operations for the Lending Services Department to ensure operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Acts as a first point of reference for Credit Administrators for questions and lending expertise
  • Acts as a resource for branch staff and internal departments by providing assistance with client issues, policies and procedures clarification and exceptions relating to Lending Services
  • Ensures due diligence and compliance regimes are followed and Blue Shore Financial’s Investment and Loan Policy (ILP) standards are adhered to.
  • Provides risk oversight to the department by reviewing and approving exceptions to policy ensuring minimal risk to the business.
  • Supports and manages day to day operation in Lending Services to ensure “Client Intimate” service delivery experience is delivered
  • Seeks to improve and identify opportunities for improvement within the department and can develop an appropriate plan of action.
  • Manages Credit Administrators including: recruitment, training, and ongoing performance management.
  • Develops individual and team objectives, conducts performance reviews, including one-on-one coaching sessions.
  • With the Manager, Lending Services develops an annual strategic plan for the department that aligns with BlueShore strategy and supports the evolution of the business.
  • Represents Lending Services on projects and cross departmental meetings as required.
  • Acts in the capacity of Manager, Lending Services during her/his temporary absence, ensuring day to day activities are not adversely affected.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Some post-secondary education or commensurate experience
  • Four to six years progressive experience in a financial institution
  • Minimum of two years leadership or management experience
  • Three to five years’ experience in credit related roles
  • Experience or strong understanding of credit administration processes
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or training
  • Complete knowledge of BlueShore Financial’s policies , procedures, and audit and security standards
