The Opportunity

CECU is looking for an energetic and innovative Assistant General Manager, with a desire to learn and willingness to take on a multi-faceted leadership role. Reporting to the GM, this manager will work from our branch at WorkSafe BC’s head office in Richmond, BC, and is accountable for building and maintaining excellent customer relationships to ensure that CECU is a financial services partner of choice for our members and potential members. The Assistant General Manager is expected to work closely with the GM to develop a visible profile with members and provide excellent member service and to manage projects and administrative functions in support of CECU’s continued growth and success.

The Assistant General Manager supervises and provides daily direction and coaching to sales and service staff to ensure delivery of effective member relationship services, to maximize revenue generation, promote growth in deposits and retail loans and to help our members achieve and maintain their financial health. Occasional travel in the GVRD may be required.

Qualifications and Skills/Key Requirements:

You have at least 4 years’ retail lending and sales experience in progressively senior positions within a financial institution, preferably including professional experience with a credit union, or have an equivalent combination of education and experience. You also have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including proven sales and service coaching experience
  • Experience with identifying and executing on business development opportunities
  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in a business related discipline; preferably with coursework in marketing, finance etc. Completion of/or working towards Lending Certificate preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong sales, coaching and training skills
  • Strong ability to create reports and synthesize data within Excel and Word
