The CUs inSync entity is designed to unify culture and foster collaborative processes across all three Credit Unions.

The position

We’re looking for a VP Internal Audit to join the CUs inSync Audit Team who empowers the internal audit team and can translate a clear vision into a strategic plan. This unique role focuses on risk management and building relationships across all three credit unions and does involve some travel from time to time. You will enhance collaboration across Conexus Credit Union, Cornerstone Credit Union, and Innovation Credit Union to keep up with the changing business and risk landscape in support of delivering a world-class member experience.

How you’ll spend your time

  • Collaborating with Chief Executive and Risk Officers, senior leaders and audit committees across all three credit unions to deliver audit work plans and consulting services that improve decision making
  • Developing, leading and empowering a dynamic audit team to provide risk-based audit processes related to operations, compliance, and credit
  • Working with external auditors and regulators (including: Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation (CUDGC) & OSFI) to maintain credibility and increase efficiency
  • Implementing a thoughtful audit framework and control structure that protects our members, staff and organizational assets
  • Taking the lead to expand and enhance our continuous risk-based auditing capability within each credit union

 Whom we’re looking for

  • An audit guru with at least five years of audit management experience, a CIA designation, ACL knowledge and motivation to continually learn more
  • A relationship builder who can communicate with a variety of internal and external partners in the credit union system
  • A team player who sees the value in coaching and developing a dynamic team
  • An intuitive thinker who can collaborate, lead and take action with our partner credit unions, the broader credit union system, and Audit community
