Primary Purpose:

The Accountant & Business Analyst provides operational accounting, business analysis and reporting support to the Accounting and Finance department of the Credit Union. This role contributes to providing streamlined accounting processes to facilitate the integrity and accuracy of management and board reports used for organizational decision making and ensures that month/quarter/year end processes are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Completion of secondary diploma required.

  • Completion of post-secondary education is an asset.

  • CPA designation required (or equivalent experience).

  • Knowledge and understanding of Credit Union related legislation and regulations.


  • Previous accounting experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Financial services experience is preferred.


  • Ability to communicate and liaise professionally with branch staff and member while maintaining confidentiality.

  • Working knowledge of accounting software and end user computing tools (e.g. excel).

  • Ability to prioritize, organize work within time constraints, under pressure and competing priorities.

  • Ability to gather information and develop sound and prudent decisions and move forward to carry out decisions in a timely manner.

  • Analytical and detailed oriented.

  • Has an understanding of the required compliance with regulatory reporting.
