Credit Administrator

The Credit Administrator is a great opportunity to work in the beautiful head office located at 1250 Lonsdale. This role ensures the effective administration of BlueShore Financial’s retail and commercial loan portfolio. This position provides centralized service and administrative support to branches and other internal departments .The department oversees all post approval activities that occur during the life cycle of the loan. Loan servicing functions include: instructing, funding, payment processing, fire insurance notification, renewal processing, payouts and discharges. In addition, the team provides support and guidance to staff regarding loan administration related procedures, documentation and system inquiries.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provides administrative support and guidance to branches for all loan related post approval activities including; instructing, funding, payment processing, fire insurance notification, renewal processing, payouts and discharges.
  • Acts a resource to lenders on Credit Administration related policies and procedures including in depth knowledge of the mortgage registration process and required documentation.
  • Manages relationships with solicitors and prepares security documentation for new mortgage funding
  • Processes new mortgage funding, re-advances and personal loan funding and provides risk oversight by ensuring correct security and documentation are in place.
  • Prepares payout statements to both branches and solicitors ensuring pre-payment penalties are calculated correctly and accurately.
  • Prepares discharges of mortgages while ensuring proper security is released
  • Audits files to ensure all required branch and legal documents are received. Includes follow up with branch and solicitor for necessary missing documents.
  • Provides administrative support to branches by processing mortgage and loan related payments and alterations, including external PAD set up
  • Liaises with third party service providers including CUMIS, First Canadian Title, solicitors, Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Genworth, and Canadian Securities Registration Systems (CSRS) on behalf of branch staff.
  • Participates in work team solutions that support efficient centralized lending administration

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 years in the financial services industry or related industry
  • Previous experience in Customer Service
  • Some exposure to lending would be an asset, but not required
  • Solid understanding of lending products
