Under Executive direction, the Manager, Consumer Lending will be a trusted advisor for our organization, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the lending services and administration functions of the credit union. In addition, they will provide leadership surrounding lending activities and compliance with all legislation, regulations, by-laws, policies and procedures. The Manager, Consumer Lending will also participate in designing, and implementing new or revised procedures and practices to improve overall performance of the credit union. This role provides the management and coordination of lending services including attaining sales goals in loans, memberships, and profitability while also ensuring that our members' lending needs are met through the Consumer Lending team.

  • Lead and coach direct reports in order to ensure high level of member satisfaction, personal lending portfolio growth and operational performance are in the best interest of the credit union
  • Collaborate with AVP, Member Experience and with other members of the management team to develop strategic plans, policies and operational procedures
  • Promote new member onboarding; foster business development through service excellence and product knowledge
  • Provide solutions for resolving more complex problems and member complaints referred by Personal Lending team to ensure the needs of members and the credit union are met
  • Collaborate with other internal business partners to provide comprehensive solutions to member’s lending needs


  • +5 years’ experience in a management role with a solid background in retail lending
  • Strong communicator who can build consensus across multiple groups and possess a participatory management style with the ability to achieve results
  • Competence in best-practices for lending, attaining sales goals in loans, memberships, and profitability
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, relationship building, coaching and motivating others
