The Opportunity

WCU has an exciting and challenging career opportunity within our Member Experience department for a highly motivated financial service professional. Under the direction of the Member Relationship Manager, the Member Relationship Specialist will work within a team of 8 individuals who provide a variety of financial services to our members.  They will be responsible for completing consumer lending requests, opening new accounts, completing signing authority documentation for all deposit accounts, processing card related requests and completing basic investment products.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 with preference given to individuals with post-secondary education plus 1-3 years of experience in the financial industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of consumer lending experience. 
  • Solid working knowledge and thorough understanding of the legal and legislative requirements associated with lending.
  • Proven success working within a sales, service and goal-oriented environment.
  • Effective listening, telephone and interview skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate, persuade, influence and negotiate.
  • Proven track record of developing strong internal and external relationships, both individually and in a team environment.
  • Experience providing high quality service in a demanding and competitive work environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
