We currently have an opening for a highly motivated, talented individual who is looking to advance in their career.  This role manages the finance and accounting functions of the credit union, leading the delivery and implementation of sound financial management for the organization.  This role is responsible for accurate reporting, planning, budgeting, profitability analysis and projection forecasting. 

You’ll be primarily accountable for:

  • Preparing monthly and annual financial statements
  • Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating results while ensuring integration of the budget process into the credit union’s overall business plan
  • Performs cost analysis, financial modeling, forecasting and identify potential risks to the Controller 
  • Reviewing and updating relevant internal processes and systems to ensure proper adherence and compliance to established credit union policies and business practices, regulations and by-laws
  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned direct reports
  • Assists credit union staff in departmental budgeting and cost expenditures

Qualifications include:

  • Working towards or have completed Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with 4-6 years of job related experience
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and display strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Demonstrated numerical comprehension, accuracy, planning analysis skills & attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently, organize work and meet deadlines within an environment of constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to lead and coach others 

The successful applicant will have the ability to potentially develop into the Controller role within the next 4 – 6 years.
