As the Senior Commercial Account Manager you'll develop, grow and manage a portfolio of commercial and agricultural accounts that have a broad range of complexity and value. You'll promote the support services, lending and cash management functions required by the commercial and agricultural clients, to meet the full financial needs of current and potential members. The role will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the development and maintenance of a profitable, growing and diversified commercial and agricultural business portfolio. You'll also initiate action to improve the growth and development of the commercial loan portfolio, while minimizing risk.


You'll also:

  • Work with department team to achieve individual and collective goals. Aggressively pursue new commercial and agricultural business for the credit union.

  • Strengthen business relationships with members through site visits and other methods of communication and proactive contact.

  • Provide advice and business/ag credit expertise to meet the needs of the Member.

  • Provide excellent service and cash management advice to new and existing commercial and agricultural members.

  • Collect information and analyze financial statements to assess credit needs.

  • Prepare and present supporting detailed summary or recommendations, including supporting documentation, underwriting review, risk analysis and clear, concise proposals.

  • Develop, maintain and nurture strong business relationships with members, including understanding their business needs, aspirations, operations and challenges.

  • Ensure lending activities comply with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Maintain effective loan auditing control procedures.

  • Ensure timely annual reviews of business loans and deposit accounts so that each service contributes to revenues and that risk is properly assessed.

  • Ensure member satisfaction by recommending appropriate products and services, or referring to appropriate channels.

  • Lead by example by forming meaningful relationships with members and providing sound advice and financial planning expertise.

  • Achieve and/or exceed established targets for business development and growth of portfolios for existing members.

  • Act as a brand ambassador for PenFinancial.

Essential requirements we'd like you to have:

  • Post secondary education in a related business field

  • Minimum five years progressive experience in sales/service and managing a diverse portfolio in commercial services within a credit union or banking environment; agricultural experience an asset.

  • Minimum three years of proven experience in business development of commercial loans and deposits with evidence of the achievement of sales targets.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and understand aspects of lending such as financing, market analysis and industry trends.

  • Excellent analytical, business development, interpersonal, communication, presentation and team skills.

  • Strong business acumen with a demonstrated ability to initiate action to achieve results and meet deadlines.

  • Proven success and experience with diverse accounts, products and services.

  • Ability to work independently with confidence and strong commitment to outstanding Member Service.
