Coastal Community is committed to improving financial health, enriching lives and building healthier communities. We are seeking to fill the position of Treasury Manager.

Reporting to the VP Treasury & Risk, the Treasury Manager provides oversight for liquidity management, interest rate management, capital management, enterprise risk management and foreign currency risk management while ensuring compliance with the credit union’s overall corporate objectives and policies. The Treasury Manager is also responsible for quality financial analysis and providing accounting support to the Finance Department.

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Assists in the development of treasury specific policies as well as the development and implementation of financial and operational policies that impact treasury, ALM and interest rate management. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial projections, budgeting and business case and plan evaluations as they relate to treasury, ALM and interest rate functions. 
  • Assists with quality financial analysis in support of business cases when required, employing measurements such as present value of cash flows, return on investments, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant policies and credit arrangements including: Investment & Lending Policy, Liquidity Plan, ALM Policy, Foreign Exchange Plan and relevant credit facilities.
  • Oversees deposit and mortgage interest and exchange rate changes and processes.
  • Assists with the identification of competitive risk and local market trends that could impact corporate performance and member/client retention.

The successful candidate will have a Business Degree with a specialization in Finance or Economics, CFA, or professional accounting designation or an equivalent combination thereof.

Additionally our preferred candidate will also have: 

  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience in the financial service industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of treasury management principles and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of asset and liability management and liquidity concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management principles and concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial markets.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and processes and financial statements.
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives, securitization and capital markets.

The Treasury Manager will be able to develop collaborative, positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and will be a team player.
