Finance & Accounting Officer

Position Overview

As an integral member of the Finance team, the Finance & Accounting Officer delivers exceptionally high-quality service, with a focus on improving operational efficiency to support our branches in delivering an exceptional member experience. Accuracy and efficiency is paramount to success with primary responsibilities of:


  • Complete tasks related to treasury services including deposit broker communications and reporting, securitizations, investments and borrowing, and contribute to liquidity management processes
  •  Support credit union branch administrative processes relating to finance and accounting


  • Support corporate accounting by completing data entry, reconciliations, accruals, accounts payable and required reporting
  • Prepare organization financial statements and subsequent board reports for approval and regulatory filing
  • Confirm processing accuracy and completeness of financial services and payments settlements

Finance, Accounting and Administrative Support

  • Provide fully functional backup to the Accounting Administrator roles
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements, while documenting and communicating updates
  • Provide administrative support to senior management and corporate projects, initiatives, and other activities

Experience & Education

  • Minimum three years’ experience in an accounting and/or administrative role, preferably within the financial services industry and will have an accounting certification\designation or working towards the same.
  • Combined experience and post-secondary education in the areas directly related to financial services will be considered
