Diamond North Credit Union (Diamond North) is a strong regional credit union supporting our local area through community investment initiatives, volunteerism and our service offerings.  Since uniting in 2006, Diamond North Credit Union has helped more than 20,000 members with their personal and business finances.  Diamond North has over $400 Million of assets.  

Diamond North is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the Credit Union into the future upon the retirement of our long-time CEO in the summer of 2018.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership to Diamond North Credit Union by working with the Board of Directors and the executive management team to establish, implement and oversee the Credit Union’s long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. The CEO adds value through their capacity to sustain the Credit Union’s strong internal culture in order to generate growth through excellence in member service and effective operational leadership.

Key areas of accountability include:

  • Executive Leadership - providing the executive leadership necessary to ensure the Credit Union’s long-term success
  • Financial and Risk Management – ensuring the integrity of the Credit Union’s control systems and ensuring financial      results are achieved
  • Leading People – providing personal leadership will encourage a culture and atmosphere that embodies the Credit Union’s values including respect, service to members, accountability and collaboration
  • Stakeholder Relations - establishing positive and productive relationships with external stakeholders to create opportunities, ensure successful operations, and deliver on the vision and strategic plans of the Credit Union
  • Board Governance - serving as a strategic partner to the Board of Directors, supporting and advising to assist them with fulfilling their fiduciary and strategic responsibilities

Our ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a substantial track record of successful execution in financial services, and has:

  • a minimum of eight years of senior management/executive leadership experience with a retail financial services institution, preferably a credit union; a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • a demonstrated track record for success in the development and implementation of management strategies to achieve organizational goals
  • passion for cooperative values, and for involvement in the local community
  • exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build strong and respectful relationships with all parties, including the Board of Directors, staff, peers, community, as well as current and potential business partners
  • effective team leadership and collaborative leadership skills;
  • experience developing an executive management team and strong coaching skills;
  • strong decision making and organizational leadership skills with the ability to plan and manage resources;
  • ability to make challenging decisions respectfully and effectively;
  • demonstrable experience working effectively with an elected Board of Directors;
  • exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to act as an effective spokesperson and ambassador for the Credit Union.
