Purpose of the Job

We are seeking a full-time or part-time Account Manager / Mortgage lender. As an Account Manager, you will require comprehensive working knowledge of assessing and managing risk in Mortgage lending and must have experience assessing, setting up, monitoring and working with Mortgage and Syndicated loans.

This position acts as the Mortgage lending specialist for the Credit Union, building and maintaining all aspects of member relationships required to meet financial objectives related to profitable growth and risk management of the Mortgage and Personal lending portfolio with a focus on building new and enhancing existing member relationships. This position is accountable for providing excellent service to our members while offering appropriate products based on their needs. This position will liaise with our Commercial Credit Consultant in managing our Commercial loans.

This position will also be responsible for providing support in completing administrative tasks, contacting members to set appointments for account reviews, loan disbursements, generating and maintaining monthly reports and meeting/contacting members for specific follow-up, as well as provide support to the CEO as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for assessing, securing, adequately papering, monitoring and managing mortgage and personal loans, which includes syndicated loans with other credit unions and/or Central 1.

- Responsible for completing proper due diligence for all credit, including writing, recommending and presenting loans for approval.

- Process member transactions and perform other administrative tasks, as required.

- Maintain discretion and confidentiality with respect to member privacy.

- Follow audit, compliance, risk management, fraud and robbery policies and procedures.

- Be an effective team player, working co-operatively with your peers within Creative Arts and delivery partners.

- Actively participate and support the team in the planning process, assisting with implementation and providing feedback.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Essential:

- 3-5 years of experience in Mortgage and Personal lending at a credit union. Experience with commercial and/or syndicated loans with Central 1 and other credit unions is an asset.

- Clear understanding of the fundamentals of Mortgage and Personal lending through financial analysis, risk management and industry analysis.

- Analytical and financial skills; the ability to read and assess financial statements.

- Good credit knowledge; the ability to create business/credit proposals based on the diverse credit, deposits and cash management needs of our clients.

- Commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues.

- Ability to negotiate client terms and conditions to ensure that they meet the risk management standards and the credit union’s cost-effectiveness criteria.

- Able to work independently without constant direction.

- Good organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to interact with all levels of commercial customers.

- Good interpersonal skills

- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, accounting or related fields and/or lending training/experience.

- Computer literate in a Windows environment.

- Experience working for a small credit union and able to provide administrative support when / where required.

Desirable:

- Working knowledge of creative industries, especially the Film and TV industries.

- Sales oriented with previous experience in a front-line sales role.

- Experience working with Fiserv/DNA, Central 1 and/or other similar credit union software systems.
