We are currently seeking an Internal Auditor for our Internal Audit department.

You’re a seasoned investigator known for facilitating systematic and ongoing internal evaluation of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. Skilled at both executing annual internal audit plans and delivering the results, you’re able to make recommendations for improvements to enhance the effectiveness of internal controls and the control environment.

What you’ll do:


· Develop, promote and build Internal Audit as a trusted insight generator and partner;

· Plan, perform, evaluate, summarize and communicate both oral and written assigned risk assessments and audit activities.

· Communicate with business unit management to discuss audit findings and agree on a course of action and/or solutions to mitigate risk.

· Draft high-quality audit reports and/or provide oral reports, communication, and presentations to management on observations and recommendations for internal control improvement.

3rd Party Internal Audits

· Contribute to the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan in accordance with internal audit methodology.

· May provide oversight and assistance to contracted 3rd party auditors, to facilitate effective and efficient completion of the internal audit plan.

· Ensure follow up reviews of management action items are conducted to mitigate risk and control exposures.

What you’ll need:


· Must have an university degree in a related discipline (i.e. business, IT)

· Enrolled or certified with the Certified Internal Auditor Designation, CFSA or CISA

· CPA an asset


· 4 years experience in an Internal Auditor or Investigative role.

· Knowledge of internal audit methodology and techniques with a solid understanding of the internal audit standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

· Advanced computer literacy and experience with data base analysis

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience


· Advanced knowledge of the financial service industry including products and operations, auditing, internal control and risk management requirements.

· Demonstrated ability to plan and execute audit assignments including managing 3rd party relationships.

· Solid understanding of credit methodologies and corporate risk for financial institutions.

· Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including interviewing and report writing and ability to build good working relationships and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of management.

· Ability to exercise a high level of discretion.

· Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet deadlines and work under pressure.


· Proficiency with SQL an asset
