Director, Information Technology

The Role:

Reporting to the VP, Director of Information Technology, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions and operations of the IT Department, ensuring on-going projects and initiatives are in line with established IT priorities and corporate objectives; will directly supervise the IT staff to ensure IT project completion and established service levels are maintained.

In this role you will:

  • Provide leadership, vision, and management to the IT department.
  • Manage the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, coaching and evaluation of IT team members in conjunction with Credit Union policies
  • Manage the purchasing of all software, hardware, and other IT supplies in line with budget expectations.
  • Make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
  • Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to superiors as needed.
  • Monitor IT Service Desk and ensure process and procedures are followed and service standards are being met
  • Oversee the timely completion of all IT Service Desk items.
  • Manage and provide support and act as the backup to IT staff in order to best utilize the information systems and IT resources.
  • Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of both LAN and WAN networks ensuring their stability, including the development and maintenance recommendations from the Senior System Administrator
  • Ensure the capabilities of the credit unions external communications are properly maintained and in good working order.
  • Approve and enforce changes to policies and procedures in the area of technology and administration with objective of improving efficiency.
  • Manage the implementation of new\upgrades for all in house and third-party systems.
  • Act as 2nd level escalation support on weekend business operation.
  • Complies at all time with and ensures adherence to all Credit Union policies and procedures including Anti-Money Laundering policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the VP, IT.

Here’s what you bring:

  • University Degree or College diploma in a Computer Systems technology field of study.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of job-related and managerial experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC skills, PC literacy beyond banking systems.
  • Working knowledge of VMware server solutions.
  • Experience with Vendor Management
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting LAN/WAN and PC problems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft O365 Suite
  • Demonstrated Project Management knowledge

Other Requirements: Due to deadlines and time constraints, the hours of work may extend beyond the normal work week.  There can be numerous and varied responsibilities which require constant prioritizing to ensure that all duties are completed efficiently, accurately and on a timely basis.   It is a requirement of this position to be able to perform well under pressure from many situations, while working towards meeting the agreed upon goals within the set timeframes.

As an Executive Assistant at Tandia you will be a vital member of our team, supporting the President, our Board of Directors and our Senior Executives. You will also be involved in event coordination, such as the planning of Tandia’s Annual General Meeting and other company events and assisting in other administrative support such as booking conferences or making travel arrangements for our executives.

In the role of Executive Assistant, we’ll rely on your expansive business knowledge and your expertise in the field of office administration to anticipate needs and plan proactively. We’ll also count on your professional and courteous approach in dealing with all members, co-workers, colleagues and external contacts.

We are looking for someone who:

  •  Has completed a degree / diploma in a business-related field, or has equivalent work experience
  •  Has a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as an Executive Assistant, or in a senior Office Administration role
  •  Has ideally worked with or supported a Board of Directors and has an understanding of Board processes and procedures including document preparation and minute-taking
  •  Has a strong inclination toward details and can be thorough and well organized, and has proven ability to work independently and efficiently
  •  Has excellent typing skills, calendar management experience and strong background in administrative support of multiple departments and functions including senior executives
  •  Operates with a high degree of discretion and tact and can build trust by demonstrating the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive material

Our System Administrator is a critical member of the IT team, providing first level support to users to resolve technology related issues, including technical infrastructure, solutions, and end user systems and devices and will act as a back-up to other administrators when required.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has in-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Desktop and Network Environment

We are looking for someone who:

  •  Has completed a degree or diploma in Computer Security or related Computer Systems or Data Security focused program
  • Possesses a minimum of 4 to 6 years of IT industry experience
  • Has a minimum of 1 year experience in the specialization of IT Security
  • Has ideally completed one or more Information Security certification(s) such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, NCSF, Comp TIA Security+
  • Has in-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Desktop and Network Environment
  • Is highly skilled in the use of network security protocols and technology solutions such as next generation firewall (NGFW) applications, routing protocols and access control lists (ACL)
  • Has a solid understanding of common frameworks or standards such as CIS Top 20, NIST and ISO 27001
  • Is skilled at vulnerability management and has hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools – ideally Tenable and/or Tenable Security Center
  • Is skilled with log management and ideally has used SIEM solutions for log management and has familiarity with Sumo Logic or Splunk; in addition, can produce reports and metrics from these tools
  • Is committed to continuous learning and regular use of open-source intelligence to stay current with industry security trends
  • Has a self-starting attitude and a highly analytical approach to delivering the highest level of security

Your Work at a Glance

In this role, you will independently manage and oversee the overall operation of the branch, including growth and maintenance of the investment, loans portfolio, and cash operation. This includes facilities management of the branch within the approved policies, procedures, certification standards & operating budget set for the year.
As a strong people leader and coach, you will directly or indirectly manage all branch staff, implement marketing plans for product and service promotion to Tandia’s members and analyze branch business progress producing relevant reports as required. You will also be involved in recruiting and interviewing for your team as well as supporting, coaching, mentoring and guiding staff at all levels.
Using your proven sales abilities, you will be responsible for pursuing new business opportunities for the branch and ensuring that business development and new member acquisition are top priority – while continually focusing on member retention and providing unparalleled service to our existing members. You will develop an annual Business Plan outlining activities to be followed by branch staff to ensure the business goals and objectives of the branch are met by year end including categories such as acquisition of deposits, lending, and referrals to Tandia’s Wealth Management team. .

In our community, you will be leading by example by supporting our community outreach programs such as providing warm breakfasts to students in need and participating in seasonal volunteer initiatives with Food4Kids, Heart and Stroke and our adopted schools.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has completed a degree / diploma in the field of Business/Commerce, Finance, Economics or has equivalent work experience
  • Has a minimum of 4 years experience in credit writing and structuring of deals in a credit union or other financial institution; ideally in positions which include lending limits
  • Has a strong lending background and understands the legalities and practices involved with lending, and specifically, mortgages
  • Is an expert at financial analysis, lending and credit writing practices as well as assessing risk
  • Has a minimum of 4 years of people management experience; is a strong leader and able to motivate and build an effective team, and is experienced at managing teams and developing people
  • Has a proven track record of delivering exceptional client service and is able to identify new opportunities and solutions for clients during the credit review process
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and is able to interact with internal and external clients/customers at all levels through multiple means of communication – by phone, email and in person
  • Has the ability to work accurately with a high degree of attention to detail while performing under pressure and working toward meeting established objectives within set timeframes
  • Is proficient using Windows and very comfortable with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Is comfortable working on a full-time basis – 35.5 hours each week – and with deadline and time constraints and an understanding that this position will include some evenings and Saturdays to support the operation of the branch and that work hours could extend beyond the normal work week
