The Position:

This individual will provide financial leadership by managing budgets, overseeing all accounting functions, and conducting forecast analysis. The Vice President of Finance will also play a key role in long-term strategic decision making processes that affect the organization’s profitability.

The Person:

University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; an MBA or CPA designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within in the Credit Union system.
Extensive, experience and knowledge in dealing with accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management.
2-5 years of progressive experience in a role responsible for ensuring risk and regulatory compliance.
Experience creating and managing budgets for a large, distributed organization.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.

Credit Adjudicator

The Position:

The Credit Adjudicator is a motivated, career-minded Credit Adjudicator responsible for evaluating and approving credit applications which exceed lender’s or branch limits. Additional responsibilities will include assistance in developing and implementation of credit policies and procedures as well as assisting our training department with lender focused training. Assist with special projects, and new business development tools and programs as required. Provide advice and direction to lenders and credit analyst regarding the analysis, structuring and negotiation of credit applications and related documentation.

Under executive direction, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Credit, the Credit Adjudicator will evaluate and approve credit applications within designated limits. Credit applications which exceed the credit adjudicator limits will be submitted to the Senor Vice President of Credit and/or Credit Committee. The position is responsible for ensuring that the approved applications meet acceptable risk requirements and provide a reasonable, risk‐based return on investment, in accordance with prudent lending practice, corporate lending policy, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements.

The Person:

Seven to nine years of job-related experience is required for this complex position.
Excellent critical analysis and decision-making skills are essential for success in this role. In addition, excellent oral and written communication, high attention to technical detail and proven ability to work effectively in a time sensitive and team environment is necessary for this position.

Vice President of Credit

The Position:

The Vice President of Credit is responsible for management of all credit functions which includes leading a modern distribution network of financial services to meet members’ expectations, via retail and commercial services, credit functions and loss prevention. This position is also responsible for sound lending, loan growth, policies and procedures in all areas of credit including consumer, commercial, agricultural and collection functions. This position along with the Senior Vice President of Credit, will oversee the Loan Adjudication department to ensure it is functioning to full efficiency.

This position has regular and frequent contact with the CEO, other Vice Presidents, Management, and Branch Staff. External contact and good relations are required with lawyers, accountants, appraisers, members, prospective members, the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation, CUMIS, CUCA, and other similar sized Credit Unions. Contact with leading edge credit unions is essential for insight into developments in the industry.

The most important decisions made include those relative to: leadership, personnel selections, credit policies, loan products, services, maintaining a credit sales culture, loan recoveries, productivity and monitoring of corporate results.

The authorities delegated to this position include approvals as outlined in the “Signing Policy and Approval Limits” as determined annually.

The main focus of this position is agriculture, commercial and consumer lending.

It is the responsibility of the Vice President of Credit to create and oversee effective teams to satisfy the above.

The Person:

University degree in business discipline or acceptable alternatives.
10 years’ progressively responsible lending experience in financial institutions with a minimum of 5 years in management and a network of financial institutions branches.
Excellent management, negotiating and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results.
Experience in budgeting, project management, and supervision of all organizational operations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Can relieve the Senior Vice President of Credit or other Vice Presidents on a large number of administrative and managerial duties.
Must be comfortable and competent in a range of venues when there is a need to represent the organization at the request, or in the absence, of the Senior Vice President of Credit.

Branch Manager

The Person:

Agriculture Industry experience or 2-3 years of agricultural lending experience.
Minimum 5 years of credit granting or other financial institution lending experience.
Proven management, coaching and motivational skills including exposure to all areas of lending, banking floor and accounting.
Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
Cooperative or Credit Union industry experience is a benefit.

Compensation:

Salary range $85,000 to $110,000/annually

Vice President of Training & Employee Development

The Position:

The Vice President of Training & Employee Development designs and delivers workshops, conferences, and other educational presentations on a wide variety of corporate subjects. The purpose of such training is to provide both employees and members with a thorough understanding of Credit Union products and services and their functionality and application. To achieve this end, the Vice President of Training is also responsible for researching materials in preparation for workshop creation, as well as the management of subject matter and course materials.

The Person:

Post-Secondary education an asset.
5-10 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry considered an asset.
Direct experience assessing training needs, creating training materials to fulfill those needs, and then delivering the training.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Overall knowledge of banking system, company products and ancillary products.
Advanced knowledge of credit union operations required.
10 years of progressively responsible experience with at least 5 years in management.
