Manager, Examinations (IT security focus)

The Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba (DGCM) guarantees 100% of deposits held at Manitoba credit unions and the caisse (cu/caisse). As the regulator for Manitoba cu/caisse, DGCM ensures every cu/caisse operates under sound business practices.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team of professionals.

Reporting to the Director, Examinations, the Manager, Examinations assesses that each cu/caisse operates under sound business practices; identifies areas of risk; and promotes recommendations for improvement.

This position is responsible for leading/participating as a team member in examinations; preparing examination reports; and presenting the results to cu/caisse Boards and management. Experience and keen interest in Information Technology (IT) security and its application in a cu/caisse environment is required to complement a multi-disciplinary Examinations team.

Selection Criteria:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience with IT governance, IT security, and outsourcing
  • Strong knowledge of sound corporate governance, risk management practices, and financial principles
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance
  • Self-motivated with excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary degree in a related area(s)
  • 5 years minimum related experience
  • Fluency in French would be considered an asset, but is not required

Leasing Account Manager – Manitoba

The purpose of this position is to develop, secure and close profitable equipment lease financing transaction business in an assigned market segment or geographic territory by building, soliciting and managing channels of business from credit unions, brokers, vendors, and direct client relationships.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

Accountable for booking annual budgeted volume of new transactional business with margin and fee contributions aligned to business plan and budget targets:

  • Develops and manages strategic partnerships with key vendors, brokers, and Credit Unions
  • Negotiates structure, terms and pricing on Lease Agreements and Loan Agreements that contributes to business unit profitability
  • Prepares and implements market account management plans that address broker education and management, credit union development, and direct business solicitation
  • Solicits business opportunities from direct customer contacts, broker and vendor relationships, and credit union affiliations
  • Develops and submits completed lease credit application packages for adjudication to the Lease Credit Department
  • Coordinates accurate lease document execution, vendor profiling, and equipment inspections as may be required upon receipt of credit approvals
  • Soliciting participation of affiliated and non-affiliated credit unions, providing lease product information, facilitating equipment leasing workshops and training seminars
  • Provides deal specific expertise, coaching and knowledge to credit union commercial lenders to help identify and develop equipment financing opportunities
  • Ensures organizational and product visibility at local and regional credit union event

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in commercial leasing or in a regulated financial services environment
  • Proven track record in territory sales management in financial or other intangible service

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice-President, Business Solutions provides strategic leadership to the commercial and agricultural sectors. Driving business development while ensuring a superior member experience are key priorities for this position.

Key responsibility areas are:

· Lead short and long-term business planning with an emphasis on business development and capitalizing on identified growth opportunities in the commercial and agricultural sectors.

· Work with outside providers to develop partnerships and provide complementary ancillary products generating/increasing non-interest revenues when possible

· Oversee and monitor the effectiveness of commercial / agricultural lending and deposit programs, marketing strategies to encourage and promote Caisse growth

· Supervise direct reports and ensure the efficient administration of the commercial / agricultural sector; hire employees; schedule work; establish work standards, conduct performance appraisals, and provide ongoing training and development to staff.

· As a full member of the executive team, participate in strategic and operational planning activities related to Caisse’s. operation.

Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degreeor an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience in a commercial and/or agricultural lending environment, preferably in the financial services industry

· Strong knowledge of credit, financial, legal and regulatory principles as well as financial products and services

· Proven ability to lead business development activities

· Excellent analytical, judgment, problem solving and decision making skills

· A proven ability to promote and embrace the values and cultural identity of the Caisse

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products

· Strong communication skills and high proficiency in both French and English, written and verbal, are required
