Accounting Analyst

Diamond North Credit Union is currently recruiting for an Accounting Analyst (Permanent Full-Time).  The physical office location will be determined based on available space and the successful applicant.

The Accounting Analyst provides support for accounting activities including payables administration, processing and posting functions, projects, and general ledger balancing and administration.  The position also assists in the monitoring and reporting of activities as they relate to workflow, volumes, effectiveness, system controls, procedures, ad practices.  Collaboration with other business units and external parties is necessary in order to meet the service and regulatory requirements of the Credit Union.

This position will be located in our Head Office in Canora. Not everyone can be a Financial Analyst. To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with:

Experience: At least 4 years in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities (a financial services background preferred)

Education: Post-secondary education in finance, accounting and/or information technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of or enrolment in a professional accounting designation (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) is preferred. A demonstrated on-going commitment to life-long learning.

Skills: You must be self-motivated, self-directed, take initiative and be a team player by displaying a positive attitude and lead by example. Must be inquisitive and passionate as well as have the ability to exercise tact, discretion, and good judgment with confidential and sensitive information.

Loan Officer II

Stoughton Credit Union is a full service credit union with approximately $128 million in assets under administration and 1800 members. Our two branches are located in South Eastern Saskatchewan in the communities of Stoughton and Kisbey.  Our credit union is committed to serving our members and communities needs by providing excellent service.

We are seeking a full time Loans Officer II to work from our Stoughton branch.  The position requires the candidate to have a comprehensive working knowledge of assessing and managing risk in agriculture and commercial lending.

This position will report to the Manager of Lending and act as the agriculture/commercial lending specialist for the region, as well as supporting the consumer lending portfolio as needed.  The candidate will be required to meet financial objectives related to profitable growth and risk management within the portfolio with a focus on building new and enhancing existing member relationships.  This position will also be responsible for providing support in completing administrative tasks in the lending area as well as travelling to meet with members and potential members.

Education and Experience:

The candidate must be committed to lifelong learning, will exercise attention to detail, have strong communication skills, and must be able to provide our members with excellent service.  Other qualifications for the position include:

– 1-2 years of post secondary education in Business Administration or a related field;

– Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a retail lender, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

– Working knowledge of the Saskatchewan agriculture industry and commercial lending;

– Experience working with DNA or other similar credit union software would be considered an asset.

THE POSITION: This position would appeal to anyone who executes a high level accounting processes that are required to provide timely and accurate delivery of consolidated financial information as well as lead the financial reporting of Innovation’s subsidiary companies and substantial investments.

A Corporate Accountant does the following:

  • Evaluate current financial practices and procedures as to efficiency and risk to safeguard credit union assets.
