Who are we?

Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation (the Corporation) is the deposit guarantor for Saskatchewan credit unions and the primary regulator for Saskatchewan credit unions and SaskCentral, together, Provincially Regulated Financial Institutions (PRFIs). We work closely with these institutions to ensure they employ sound business practices to enhance the strength and stability of the Saskatchewan credit union system.

We are seeking a confident, forward-thinking leader with strong human resources, governance, planning, vendor management and communications skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and aspires to make an impact on shaping our future, to join the Corporate Operations team. This is a 22-month term and is an onsite job in Regina.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Vice-President Corporate Operations, you will be responsible for leading a group of professionals and managing the delivery and maintenance of the Corporation’s corporate support requirements and governance framework. This includes human resources, CEO and employee compensation, communications, promotional items, planning, project management, corporate policy, and procedure framework, outsourcing and service provider contract management, office and records management services, and payroll services.

Working closely with senior management, you will recommend board policies and practices, execute strategic initiatives, plan, and allocate resources for corporate activities to achieve business plans. In addition, you will champion and support the Corporation’s image and reputation as a credible, professional regulator. This position provides backup support to the finance and accounting function.

 

What you’ll need:

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or commerce, ideally supplemented with a graduate degree or professional designation
  • Professional designation and/or membership in CPHR or IABC
  • Five to seven years of progressively challenging leadership management experience in corporate operations
  • Five to ten years of service provider management experience
  • Exposure to corporate governance, planning, human resources management, communications, and project management and records are required.
  • Experience leading a team of people to accomplish initiatives would be considered an asset.

PROJECTS AND IT SUPPORT OFFICER

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

 This position is responsible for coordinating and establishing projects of need within the branch regarding larger scope projects, IT needs and branch needs and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

 The following is intended to illustrate the type and level of work typically performed in this role and is not intended to be a comprehensive description of duties performed.

  • Look after and aide in implementation of the required technical projects within our team and services.
  • Analyze, plan, and coordinate the development and execution of the system being implemented, plan and find solutions.
  • Maintain front line support to our third-party providers, branch, and team.
  • Procure as needed through discussion with General Manager, technology needs and infrastructure to support our growing technology needs.
  • Ensure a constant communication with service providers and all level of branch staff on the progress and updates as needed for special projects and IT items.
  • Complete system modifications, system tests / audits on new and modified applications and assess system performance to ensure quality of product and system.
  • Analyze and manage the technology deployments with General Manager, Management Team, and Marketing Officer.
  • Analyze, resolve and trouble shoot system issues related to projects and IT updates and development.
  • Provide local and remote – user issue support and resolution
  • Manage change requests as needed for projects and IT.
  • Execute on other tasks as determined by General Manager, branch needs and project requirements.
  • Aid in the development of standards, procedures and policies for Special projects and IT requirements.

  • Use story-telling best practices to create meaningful content to generate internal and external awareness of and emotional connection to SASCU initiatives.
  • Build community presence in SASCU’s markets, including serving on association boards as requested.
  • Seek sponsorships, including partnerships, with organizations that align with SASCU’s desired impact.
  • Enhance SASCU’s visibility and appropriate participation in projects, activities, events, and other supported initiatives.
  • Prepare submission packages for Board presentations and participate in Community Relations and Sponsorship Committee meetings.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Brand & Community to develop and execute department strategies and goals related to SASCU’s underserved communities, Indigenous, and new Canadians.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in community engagement, outreach, event planning, and working in partnership with community organizations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

You’re perfect for this role if you have:

  • Solid knowledge of social media, and a working knowledge of audio-visual equipment (DSLR cameras, video/audio recorder, microphones).
  • The ability to build relationships, generate enthusiasm, and work with diverse populations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate a variety of work under deadlines and adapt easily to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.

 What you’ll bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in a financial services environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using social media tools to execute online marketing strategies, grow social media channels, and track engagement and sentiment.

You’re perfect for this role if you have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of market/customer analysis principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques, and of social media across multiple platforms.
  • Working knowledge of project management fundamentals and proven ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously through to completion.
  • Knowledge of product lines and business processes in the financial sector; front line experience providing financial services to customers is an asset.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills, and working knowledge of Google Analytics and HTML coding is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
