We’re looking for a self-motivated individual to come on board as a Financing Specialist in Saskatoon. We are also open to consider candidates in Prince Albert or Humboldt. You must be passionate about helping local businesses succeed and comfortable working both independently and as a part of the team. You will contribute as a key member of our team alongside business advisors by utilizing your strong business, financial and credit analysis skills to identify opportunities for enhanced solutions and providing recommendations that support our members financial well-being.

  • Providing high quality business and financial analysis to support the underwriting of member credit needs and annual reviews
  • Demonstrating responsible credit and risk analysis and assessment to provide strong credit recommendations

The experience you bring

  • 2+ years in a business lending role
  • Well-developed credit underwriting and risk assessment ability
  • Financial statement analysis including ratio analysis and cash flow
  • CSI Moody’s Certificate in Commercial Credit (CICC) or willingness to obtain this designation
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or Economics is an asset

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, thorough, and well-organized to ensure sound decision-making in the analysis and recommendation of Dealer Finance credit. Reporting to the Vice President Credit, the Dealer Finance Relationship Manager will assist in overseeing the Dealer Finance loan portfolio while building positive relationships with customers and providing exceptional service as a first point of contact.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the Dealer Finance loan portfolio and in achieving loan growth targets as set out by corporate strategy
  • Build and foster strong relationships with the dealer partners to ensure ongoing growth
  • Work collaboratively with dealerships and customers to make recommendations of credit and appropriate solutions, based on the customer needs
  • Complete financial analysis (commercial, agriculture, and consumer) for vehicle loans
  • Maintain open, two-way communication with internal stakeholders to determine the best solution for the customer
  • Identify problem accounts and work with customers to find an appropriate solution
  • Perform collections on all defaulted accounts, in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Flexible work hours are required, including rotational coverage for Saturdays

Qualifications:

  • Lending experience in consumer, commercial, and agriculture preferred, but will consider education and/or a combination of education and experience
  • Experience interpreting financial statements
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work requirements to meet deadlines and work within time constraints

  • Complete financial analysis and data input for commercial, agriculture, and consumer loans
  • Utilize internal systems for data entry of financial statement and member information

  • Conduct loan portfolio analysis support for the Credit Department
  • Identify additional member solutions that create cross-selling opportunities

Qualifications:

Senior Loans Officer

Our Loans Officers are available to our members through in-person meetings, phone calls, and other forms of electronic communication. The ability to provide expert advice when it’s truly needed is crucial to meeting our members needs. We know our members, and to see their successes is extremely rewarding. The Senior Loans Officer is responsible for oversight of their own lending portfolio, which will include agriculture, and commercial files. Each portfolio has a different level of complexity and presents the opportunity for new learnings each and every day! The role of Loans Officer can be challenging, yet rewarding, and the reward far outweighs the challenge!

You have a desire to learn and have an in-depth understanding of lending practices and procedures. The ideal candidate will have many years of service in the credit union system, and a minimum of six to ten years as a lender. You have an appetite for risk, and know when to take the risk, and when to shy away from it. You will be responsible to mitigate risk of default. When required you will initiate action to collect on delinquent loans, as necessary.

Building relationships is important. In fact, it is essential to our business. The other key part of the Loans Officer role is to foster new relationships and grow new business. You will regularly visit and maintain contact with your current and potential members. You enjoy the rush of that first contact, and have no problem popping into a business for the first time to meet the owner and take those first steps in fostering a relationship. When the time is right, you’ll ask for the business!

This exciting opportunity is available in our Quill Lake Branch; however, most of your work time will be spent out of the office fostering relationships. You will be required to travel within and outside of our trading area and to other branches.   • Proven supervision at a senior level with emphasis on sales management, coaching, accountability, and performance management
  • Exceptionally strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
