You have an in-depth understanding of lending practices and procedures.  The ideal candidate will have many years of service in the credit union system or financial services industry, and a minimum of seven to ten years of job related experience.  You have an appetite for risk, and know when to take the risk, and when to shy away from it.  You will be responsible to mitigate risk of default.  When required you will initiate action to collect on delinquent loans, as necessary.  Working closely with the Manager of Lending Administration, you will ensure all loans are in compliance with sound business practice, legislation, regulations, and policies and procedures.

In fact, it is essential to our business!  Another key part of the Manager role is to foster new relationships and grow new business.  You are not afraid to pick up the phone and call a potential member.  You enjoy the rush of that first contact, and have no problem popping into a business for the first time to meet the owner and take those first steps in fostering a relationship.  When the time is right, you’ll ask for the business!

Chief Operating Officer

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree, Associate of the Credit Union, or a combination of education and experience in the financial services industry (preferably credit union) with a minimum of 10 years industry experience
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities and operational knowledge with a sound understanding of retail operations and the sales process
  • Proven leadership and management at a senior level with escalating responsibilities and strategic involvement
  • Ability to lead, develop, and implement sales and service initiatives with a proven background in achieving sales/growth targets

Lending Service Representative

We are seeking three experienced, full-time Lending Service Representatives to be based out of our Ogema, Tribune and/or Radville Branches. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, responsibilities include interviewing members and potential members, analyzing loan applications, granting and/or recommending consumer, agricultural and commercial loans and mortgages and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. The position is also responsible for collection activity and cross-selling the full range of Credit Union products.

An LSR trainee must be a motivated individual with some financial education/experience and a commitment to the financial services industry and credit union system. An LSR Trainee will work with our experienced Lending Team and management to kickstart their career.

• 2-4+ years of experience, consumer, agricultural, and/or commercial lending.

The Credit Union:

The Position:

The Manager, Lending Services oversees all commercial, agricultural, retail lending activities.  This position ensures all lending activities follow sound business practices, legislation, regulations, and policies and procedures.  The Manager, Lending Services is also responsible, but not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate action to improve growth and development of the Rocky Credit Union’s loan portfolio by pursuing new business and establishing and maintaining liaison with business and community contacts.
  • Effectively mentor, coach and develop lending staff to ensure sales and business development objectives are achieved and members receive consistent level of quality, personalized service.
  • Manage the lending staff of Rocky Credit Union to ensure compliance with established business practices, legislation, regulations, by-laws, policies and procedures
  • Develop and recommend changes to policies and procedures for effective and efficient lending services
  • Resolve complex lending issues and member complaints referred by staff to ensure needs of members and Rocky Credit Union are met
  • Completion of regulatory reporting requirements on an on-going basis.
  • Organize, schedule and monitor lending service activities to ensure maximum service levels are being provided to members and that work flows smoothly.
  • Manage an assigned loan portfolio through the analysis of loan requests based on character, capacity, and collateral to safeguard member deposits and the viability of Rocky Credit Union.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement changes to policies and procedures in the lending department.
  • Provide input in the creation of lending sales targets and marketing plans.
  • Establish performance standards, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training and development needs of departmental staff.
  • Develop department budget and monitor performance in relation to budget.

The Person:

  • Post-secondary education plus seven years combined retail and commercial lending experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage, coach, motivate and develop employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good understanding of credit union regulatory requirements.
  • Time management & detailed oriented.
  • An awareness of external economic environment
  • Excellent negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience is an asset.

As the Manager, Central Credit and under the direction of the Director, Credit you will manage SASCU’s personal credit approval, administration, and review activities. What you’ll do:

  • Perform reviews, analysis and approvals of credit applications, managing risk within credit granting approval limits; identify areas of potential loss or liability and initiate action to minimize exposure to risk;
  • Support Director, Credit in developing realistic operational plans and budgets to ensure that the needs of the credit union are met in the personal lending area;
  • Manage the credit union’s personal lending portfolios to ensure they are managed according to established practices and procedures;
  • Manage pricing (discounting) within the guidelines established by Finance to ensure profitability within credit union operations;
  • Act as a liaison with auditors on lending files and loans administration activities;
  • Provide input into SASCU’s credit processes to meet service standards for turnaround times to members;
  • Support Director, Credit to establish, administer and review systems and procedures to protect the quality and profitability of SASCU’s loan portfolio;
  • Provide day-to-day direction, problem solving and oversight to the Personal Lending staff;
  • Role model SASCU’s organizational values and leadership competencies and implement programs and initiatives that build member relationships to enhance service and contribute to the growth of the credit union’s personal loan portfolio.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • A business administration degree or diploma is preferred;
  • Ten years of previous banking or credit union experience, including at least five years personal and commercial lending experience, some at the supervisory level;
  • An in-depth understanding of credit adjudication principles, policies and procedures and a proven track record of responsible adjudication;
  • Ability to manage, coach, motivate and develop employees to ensure high staff productivity;
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbal and written, and to provide service-oriented solutions to internal customers;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify trends, omissions and errors within the portfolio and adjudication processes;
  • An awareness of the external economic environment.

Agricultural & Commercial Credit Officer

Dundalk Credit Union, a successful local co-operative financial institution, seeks an Agricultural and Commercial Credit Officer. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a background in Agriculture that is a confident communicator with strong analytical skills to join our team.
