Agriculture and Commercial Loans Officer

In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of a portfolio of Agriculture and Commercial accounts that exhibit a high degree of complexity and value to Edam Credit Union.  The focus of this position is to use an excellent degree of knowledge and expertise to assess and anticipate member’s needs, and recommend credit solutions to meet those needs, while also meeting their broader business objectives.

Working as part of a team, you will:

  • Collect documentation, complete financial analysis, calculate debt servicing capacity and evaluate collateral security and write up loan applications in compliance with regulations, procedures, and policies. You will recommend credit structure and pricing based on consideration of risk and relationship, with the full understanding of the members’ needs and knowledge of Edam’s suite of credit products and lending policies.
  • Interpret loan reports and identify further action required to address problem areas such as pending delinquency; monitor delinquent accounts, work with member to develop remedial plans to mitigate risk of loss; initiate and participate in all collection activities including legal actions.

To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • Experience
    • Minimum 5-10 years progressive experience in a business banking (ag and commercial) environment
  • Education
    • Post-secondary education in agriculture, finance, commerce, or equivalent work experience

Lending Service Representative

Job Profile:

We are seeking an experienced, full-time Lending Service Representative to be based out of our Ogema Branch.  Reporting to the Business Development Manager, responsibilities include interviewing members and potential members, analyzing loan applications, granting and/or recommending consumer, agricultural and commercial loans and mortgages and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. The position is also responsible for collection activity and cross-selling the full range of Credit Union products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years of experience, consumer, agricultural, and/or commercial lending.
  • One year of related post-secondary education. (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Ability to interpret complex member financial information, assess risk and determine product/service opportunities.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration preferred

· Three to five years job/industry related experience preferred

Personal Loans Officer

Northern Savings Credit Union is seeking a full time Personal Loans Officer for our Terrace, BC location.  This key position in the branch provides financial solutions and exemplary member service in personal loans and mortgages. This position is often the primary point of contact for existing and new members and can foster relationships through service excellence and product knowledge specific to retail lending.

Duties:

  • Delivers financial solutions to new and existing members by offering a suite of personal lending and mortgage products.
  • Is knowledgeable in all Northern Savings financial products and services to enable referrals to Financial Services Representatives, Business Services, financial advisory services and insurance (life, property and casualty).
  • Collaborates with staff in addressing services issues and member concerns.
  • Has expert knowledge of lending processes and procedures.
  • Identifies process improvements and escalates to supervisor.

What you’ll do:

  • Advise members on a full range of deposit and investment products, including new personal and business accounts, cards, term deposits, registered products, and mutual funds and associated services.
  • Advise members regarding personal and small business lending products and services, including mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, MasterCard application and associated insurance products.
  • Service and manage estate accounts within an assigned portfolio.
  • Interview loan applicants, analyze credit information, assess credit and make recommendations to Centralized Credit.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities within the assigned portfolio or through referrals, and, when appropriate, connect the member to another colleague within your team to ensure all of the member’s financial needs are met.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the financial planning process by partnering with organizational specialists who can assist members with customized financial solutions.
  • Take a lead role in various marketing promotions and other activities to build the membership base and have a positive impact on the community.
  • Take personal responsibility for delivery of the SASCU Member Experience and contribute to the team creation of a warm and welcoming environment.

What you’ll bring:

  • Two (2) years’ post-secondary education or equivalent
  • 4 to 6 years’ progressive experience, including cash, investments and lending services.
  • Registration as a Mutual Funds Representative, or enrollment in the Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) course within 3 months of attaining position, with the intention to register as a Mutual Funds Representative.
  • Strong sales record, with an aptitude for business development and relationship building.
  • Ability to quickly acquire an advanced understanding of SASCU products and services, policies and procedures, as well as branch and specialist roles.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative.
