Protecting your privacy is important to National Consulting Limited (NCL). This Online Privacy Statement (the “Privacy Statement”) explains how NCL collects, uses and discloses the personal and non-personal information you may provide, or that we may collect, in connection with your use of the website administered by NCL at creditunioncareers.ca (the “Website”) and the services it provides (the “Services”).

2.     Information Automatically Collected

The Website automatically collects certain non-personal information regarding Website users (such as the date and time you access the Website, the Internet Protocol address of your computer or device you are using, the website from which you linked directly to the Website, the browser you are using, and the Website pages read and the content accessed or downloaded). This non-personal information is used for system administration purposes such as analyzing trends, administering our website, tracking user movements, and gathering demographic information for internal use such as statistical assessments, website improvement and improving user experience. Non-personal information may be disclosed to other persons and permanently archived for future use. If non-personal information is combined with personal information, then the non-personal information will be treated as personal information.

The Website uses “cookies”, a technology that installs information on a Website user’s computer to permit the Website to recognize future visits using that computer. Personal information we collect to use for these purposes includes your name, email address and city, province and country of residence and phone number. NCL will not use your personal information for purposes other than those for which it is collected, except with your consent or as permitted or required by applicable law. Additionally, NCL may keep a record of all communications with you.

Information that you post or otherwise provide or transmit through the Website or in connection with the Services may be accessed, used and stored by others around the world, including those outside Canada, including countries that might not have legislation that guarantees adequate protection of personal information in accordance with standards typical in Canada. NCL does not control such third parties (including but not limited to users of the Website) and is not responsible for their use of any such information. Accordingly, you should not post, provide or transmit sensitive information or any other information through the website or in connection with the Services that you would not want made public.

Disclosure of Your Information: NCL may disclose your personal information as required or permitted by applicable law, or to its agents, suppliers, service providers and to certain partners in connection with marketing the Website and administering user accounts, and to prospective employers, job seekers or other user of the Website for use in connection with matters relating to your use of the Website or Services provided through the Website, NCL’s provision of Services to you, or otherwise as specified by NCL at the time of collection NCL may also disclose your personal information to other persons at your request, with your consent, or in connection with an investigation or proceeding to investigate or protect you and other persons and NCL from error, risk, fraud, or criminal activity. NCL will not sell or rent your personal information to any third party (except that NCL charges fees to prospective employers for use of the Website and related services including receipt of information regarding job applicants and/or other users and NCL may provide statistical information regarding employment trends in Canada based on information provided by users of the Website to third parties). NCL has no control over, and no responsibility or liability for, those persons’ use and disclosure of your personal information, and that use and disclosure is not subject to this Privacy Statement.

Use of Third Party’s Personal Information: During your use of the Website or in connection with the Services, you may provide personal information of third parties for the purposes of providing references for job opportunities or other purposes. If you provide personal information of another individual to Central 1, you represent that prior to providing the personal information, you have obtained consent or authority to permit NCL to collect, use and disclose such information for the purpose set out in this Privacy Statement, or as required or permitted by applicable law.

Depersonalized Information: NCL may use your personal information to create non-personal information regarding the use of the Website and the Services. We may use and disclose this aggregate data to better understand our overall user base and for other purposes in our sole discretion. NCL may permanently retain non-personal information for future use.

Withdrawing Consent: You may withdraw your consent to the use and disclosure of your personal information, but doing so may mean that NCL cannot provide services to you. To withdraw consent, please contact Central 1’s Privacy Officer. NCL cannot control the continued use, collection or disclosure of your personal information by third parties who have received it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Retention of Your Information: NCL retains your personal information for as long as required to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as may be required by law. When no longer required, your personal information will be destroyed, anonymized, or disposed of using secure methods. NCL cannot control the continued use, collection or disclosure of your personal information by third parties who have received it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Location of Information: NCL will store and process your personal information in secured locations. The personal information is stored and processed in Canada. However, the disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Statement and applicable law may result in your personal information being transferred outside of Canada, including to the United States. The laws of other countries regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information may be different from the laws of Canada. Your use of the Website indicates your consent to your personal information being transferred outside of Canada and subject to the laws of these other jurisdictions.

Accessing or Correcting Your Personal Information: You may request access to your personal information and information about Central 1’s collection, use and disclosure of that information by sending your request to Central 1’s Privacy Officer. Subject to certain exceptions and limitations prescribed by applicable law, you will be given reasonable access to your personal information, and will be entitled to request changes to the personal information we have about you to ensure accuracy and completeness of the information. You can help NCL maintain the accuracy of your information by notifying NCL of any changes.

Complaints: NCL will investigate all reasonable written complaints or inquiries about the policies and practices relating to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. You can direct complaints to NCL’s Privacy Officer.

Former Users: If you cease using the Website or your permission to use the Website is terminated, NCL may continue to use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement as amended.

Privacy Statement Changes: This Privacy Statement may be changed from time to time in NCL’s sole discretion and without any prior notice or liability to you or any other person. The collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information will be governed by the version of this Privacy Statement in effect at that time. New versions of the Privacy Statement will be posted on the Website and will be available upon request from NCL.
