What do our Financial Services Associates and Advisors do?

As an FSA, you will work in a retail banking environment where you have a meaningful impact on the financial wellness of members. You connect with existing and prospective members, understand their financial and personal goals, provide informative and personalized advice, and recommend the right products and solutions to achieve their goals and enable their financial success.

Our ideal candidate is a relationship builder. You’re motivated, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. You’ll be a part of a team of knowledgeable professionals who share a genuine commitment to working with and delivering exceptional service to our membership, including on accounts and deposit products, consumer investments, and lending products and services (such as consumer and small business/ag loans and mortgages).

As a Financial Services Associate or Advisor, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of members, partnering with current and potential members to understand their goals and priorities
  • Advise on and deliver a variety of products and services to successfully meet members’ needs
  • Engage in outreach, marketing, and follow-up opportunities to proactively seek out new business and deepen existing relationships, and
  • Promote Synergy Credit Union within our communities, including engaging in business development activities, volunteerism, phone calls, emails, and participating in campaigns.

What you need for this role:

  • Related post-secondary education (such as a Diploma or Degree in Business) and 1 year of job-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relationship and business development skills
  • Previous sales experience working with goals, strong closing/referral techniques, and pipeline development is desired
  • Mutual Fund Accreditation or successful completion of accreditation within 3 months of hire

A typical day may look like:

  • Engaging with business and agribusiness members and potential members to understand their business goals and advise on lending & other financial needs.

  • Promoting our credit union within the community in a variety of ways including support for business development activities, volunteerism, phone calls, emails, and participation in campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Related post-secondary education (e.g. Business Diploma) and 5 years of senior lending experience are required. Equivalencies may be considered.
  • Must have work experience / education in the area(s) of business &/or agricultural lending with an understanding of lending requirements, rules and regulations.
  • A solid working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Microsoft Teams or other virtual meeting tools. Preference for applicants with customer management software experience.

Manager of Deposit Support

Reporting to the Manager of Retail Administrative Services, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the Centralized Deposit Support team.  You lead the administration of the deposit side of business and account related services, supporting your team to deliver efficient and accurate deposit taking and ancillary administrative services.

You are a passionate coach and mentor!  You are instrumental in motivating your team for success and holding accountability to performance and results.  As a leader, you provide timely communication and articulate the vision with your team and throughout Synergy Credit Union, building and cultivating relationships.  You collaborate and create an inclusive team environment for fostering continuous growth and development.

In this role, you are also responsible to develop and maintain policies and procedures related to deposit operations and ancillary services and monitor and report on adherence to policies and procedures as part of ongoing quality assurance.  You plan, organize and direct projects, and ensure high quality administrative support is provided to all Retail Service Centres of Synergy Credit Union.  You manage and resolve technical issues impacting service and support a wide range of supplier/service partner programs by creating exceptional working relationships with our partners.  This position also ensures compliance with legislation, regulations, by-laws, standards of sound business practices, policies and procedures.

Qualifications: Preference is given to two year related post-secondary program (Diploma program) with four to six years or related experience. An equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered. Must be a proven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.  The ability to work with various programs, software and technology is required.

Salary range:  $72 900 – $91 200 annually

Financial Advisor

You are fascinated with the tools and strategies a member can use to build dreams.  You will engage members in risk management conversations, and you do so with the best interest of the member in mind.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have a rich knowledge of financial planning from experience and education; a Certified Financial Professional (CFP) designation or Personal Financial Professional (PFP) designation, and a Mutual Fund license are all requirements for the role either immediately or within an established timeframe.

Manager of Wealth Services

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities of our Wealth Services team members, in the delivery of Wealth Management Services.  Synergy Credit Union partners with Aviso Wealth who is a national financial services firm providing MFDA and IIROC dealer services, online brokerage, and insurance solutions.

You are an integral part of leading and inspiring a dedicated and compassionate team in helping our members achieve their personal life goals.  You will also participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the annual budget, and implementation of our long-term business strategy for Wealth Services. This position will ensure all Wealth Services activities are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, regarding the promotion and sale of investment products and services.

This position is based out of the Lloydminster Synergy Centre in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. We also have branches in Kindersley, Paradise Hill, St. Walburg, Lashburn, Denzil, Macklin, Maidstone, Marsden, Marshall, and Neilburg.  Dedication to our communities is a cornerstone belief of our Credit Union, and it shows.  Every year, our amazing staff is more than willing to offer their time as volunteers, on top of our financial and sponsorship activities.
