THE OPPORTUNITY

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, office management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar administrative role. Credit Union or Financial Institution experience would be an asset.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and multitasking abilities.

We’re seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager: Treasury & Risk Analytics, the Financial Analyst fulfills a senior support role in the Finance Department, with shared responsibility for various Finance, Treasury and Accounting functions. This role provides information to support Kootenay Savings Credit Union’s Asset and Liability management strategies and policies, and verifies data integrity for numerous reports. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for preparing various financial and profitability reports, including completing various projects requiring interpretive analyses.

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • A minimum of three years’ experience of progressive, relevant financial analysis, reporting experience in a related environment

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting administratively to the President & Chief Executive Officer with functional accountability to the Audit & Operational Risk (A&OR) Committee, the Internal Auditor provides independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Credit Union’s operations.

The Internal Auditor helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. The Internal Auditor is accountable for the development and carrying out of risk-based audit programs designed to evaluate Management’s system of internal controls as they pertain to the enterprise-wide risk profile.

You will work with all levels of management and staff to provide assurance that key risks are being managed effectively, and act as a change agent through innovative solutions to help improve organizational performance. Your clear and concise reports to Management and the A&OR Committee will present risks objectively and make practical recommendations which will improve the systems of internal control and operating efficiencies. You will stay abreast of professional standards for internal auditing to carry out all activity within the framework of accepted professional standards.

A remote work option may be considered for this role; however, the incumbent must be able to travel to work onsite in Trail, BC or in other KSCU locations as required.

What you bring:

  • A professional accounting or auditing designation (CPA or CIA), or enrollment in a professional accounting or auditing program, or equivalent
  • Four to six years of related experience in a financial institution, some at a supervisory level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As Senior Manager Commercial Adjudication you are responsible for the operational control of the credit union’s commercial lending portfolio, commercial adjudication and retail & commercial administration in a manner that supports operational efficiency and ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational practices, policies & procedures, and risk framework.

  • Being accountable for the planning, development, and implementation of policies, programs and strategies in support of commercial lending functions and credit support lending administration
  • Providing operational oversight of compliance with enterprise risk management (ERM) policies and practices and maintenance of lending operations, risk, and administrative practices, policies, and procedures
  • Providing managerial and administrative control of the commercial lending portfolio, adjudication and retail and commercial credit support administration
  • Being accountable for providing managerial direction and leadership to the centralized management team to achieve established organizational performance goals

The ideal incumbent will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or designation requiring 3 to 4 years’ full-time study or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years’ progressive leadership experience in the financial services industry with a focus on commercial credit execution, oversight, adjudication, underwriting and credit design
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial credit underwriting policies and procedures

Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant performs accounting functions that lead to the quality preparation of both internal and external financial and management reports and external regulatory reporting for the Credit Union and its subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities include performing functions in the monthly accounting cycle, preparing and assisting with various reconciliations and assisting with other projects as assigned.  In addition, the incumbent acts as a resource and provides guidance to accounts payable staff.

The incumbent is a team player, committed to developing collaborative, positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.

The ideal incumbent will possess:

  • A Bachelors’ Degree with a major in Accounting and/or Finance or professional accounting designation
  • A minimum of four years progressive accounting experience, with a demonstrated understanding of advanced level accounting processes, principles and internal controls
  • Strong understanding of computer technology, including demonstrated advanced spreadsheet, word processing and Outlook skills

CLIENT SUPPORT ANALYST – Trail, BC

We currently have an opportunity to hire a Client Support Analyst to join our Technology Solutions team!

With minimal direction, the Client Support Analyst acts in a consulting capacity to managers and users on all matters relating to system improvements, enhancements, and changes in hardware and software.  The incumbent is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of all software, telephone, hardware and local area networks in the branches and the Corporate Office.

The Client Support Analyst also participates in the IT Helpdesk, IT release and compensated on call rotation schedules.

This position is based in Trail, BC with the requirement that the incumbent be onsite three days per week.

Qualifications Required

  • Successful completion of a two-year diploma or certificate in the field of computing technologies, plus a minimum of three years’ experience working within an enterprise-sized Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Successful completion of CompTIA A+ certification, or willingness to complete within six months from date of hire
  • Successful completion of MCSA: Windows Server certificate, or a willingness to complete within 24 months from date of hire
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft-based software, network architecture, topology and security schemas including ability to troubleshoot Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft back office (enterprise) and Microsoft 365 products, and to train others in their application
  • Ability to derive and implement an operational, client, and enterprise computing plan from corporate strategies and best practices, including the monitoring and documentation of all inter-related operations
  • Ability to work and communicate well in a team and sales and service environment, both verbally and in writing, and to provide service-oriented solutions to internal customers
  • Ability to apply good judgment in making independent decisions
  • Valid BC driver’s license and vehicle

Starting Salary: $76,021 annually
