The Opportunity: President & CEO

The Technology Team of Kootenay Savings has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator – Microsoft Systems to join our team. This senior technical role will be responsible for maintaining, securing and upgrading our organization’s technology infrastructure.

What does this role do?

Researches, recommends and deploys new technologies that will improve our environment, this includes the technical leadership of the design, implementation and usage of all Microsoft Cloud Technologies
Configures and maintains Hyper V & VMWare Virtual Production Environments
Implements, configures and maintains LAN, WAN and Firewalls
Secures Corporate Infrastructure and develops maintenance programs to ensure applications and hardware are current
Takes a lead role in ensuring the desktop and server environments are kept updated and patched in line with industry standards
Participates in software and hardware release programs
Works with automation and scripting to enhance the end user experience
Works closely with peers to deliver on technical projects and organizational priorities
Works with vendors on strategic projects and escalated support

Must Have:

Successful completion of a 2-year diploma or certificate in computing technologies
Experience working in an Enterprise environment
5+ years’ experience in Windows Server Systems Administration
2+ years’ experience in the design, configuration & operation of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

INTERNAL AUDITOR, Interim position – Trail, BC

The mission of the Kootenay Savings Internal Audit group is to provide independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve the Credit Union’s operations. The Internal Auditor helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

We currently have an opportunity to hire a temporary Internal Auditor in our Risk Management Department. The duration of this temporary opportunity is for approximately one year.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, your creative thinking and knowledge of modern auditing techniques and business ethics will contribute to the development of innovative approaches to improving controls and operations. This role will work with all levels of management and staff to provide assurance that key risks are being managed effectively and act as a change agent through innovative solutions to help improve organizational performance. With an inquisitive mind and enthusiasm in the face of constant change, you will be responsible for planning and performing a variety of audit and advisory services to professional internal auditing standards. Your audit reports will present risks objectively and make practical recommendations to management.

A remote work option may be considered for this role; however, the incumbent must be able to travel to work onsite in Trail, BC or in other KSCU locations as required.

Qualifications Required

• Professional accounting or auditing designation (CPA or CIA), or enrollment in a professional accounting program, or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience in a financial institution
• Working knowledge of commercial and retail lending
• Working knowledge of financial deposit processes, procedures and regulatory requirements
• Strong understanding of policies and procedures related to the audit process and risk management
• Strong proficiency with computer systems and programs required to perform the functions of the position

Manager: Credit Administration and Commercial Adjudication

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as the Manager: Credit Administration & Commercial Adjudication. Based out of our Corporate office, the Manager: Credit Administration and Commercial Adjudication is responsible for the development and growth of long term, profitable relationships with commercial members through appropriate adjudication and mitigation of credit risk and appropriate pricing of credit relationships.

The incumbent provides leadership and guidance to the Credit Administration team and ensures appropriate processes and controls are in place to monitor and mitigate risk while ensuring Kootenay Savings policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines are met. The Manager: Credit Administration & Commercial Adjudication provides input and is responsible for the development of lending policies and procedures as required. In addition, this role supports our commercial lending group by providing guidance on loan applications, structure, pricing and application of lending policies.

Minimum requirements:

Post-secondary diploma, degree and/or certification in Business or a related program
Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in sales and service with a comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending and risk management in the financial services industry
Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines and excellent adjudication skills including commercial portfolio risk management
Sound knowledge and understanding of business financial statements, business case and cash flow analysis and real estate lending
General knowledge of consumer and retail mortgage lending including financial products & services

Advanced knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
