We are looking for a results oriented individual to join our team to cover the Winnipeg and/or surrounding area in Manitoba. This role will work from a home office environment.

The purpose of this position is to develop, secure and close profitable equipment lease financing transaction business in an assigned market segment or geographic territory by building, soliciting and managing channels of business from credit unions, brokers, vendors, and direct client relationships.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

Accountable for booking annual budgeted volume of new transactional business with margin and fee contributions aligned to business plan and budget targets:

  • Develops and manages strategic partnerships with key vendors, brokers, and Credit Unions
  • Negotiates structure, terms and pricing on Lease Agreements and Loan Agreements that contributes to business unit profitability
  • Prepares and implements market account management plans that address broker education and management, credit union development, and direct business solicitation
  • Solicits business opportunities from direct customer contacts, broker and vendor relationships, and credit union affiliations
  • Develops and submits completed lease credit application packages for adjudication to the Lease Credit Department
  • Coordinates accurate lease document execution, vendor profiling, and equipment inspections as may be required upon receipt of credit approvals
  • Soliciting participation of affiliated and non-affiliated credit unions, providing lease product information, facilitating equipment leasing workshops and training seminars
  • Provides deal specific expertise, coaching and knowledge to credit union commercial lenders to help identify and develop equipment financing opportunities
  • Ensures organizational and product visibility at local and regional credit union event

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in a business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in commercial leasing or in a regulated financial services environment
  • Proven track record in territory sales management in financial or other intangible service

As a Contact Centre Advisor, you will build deep relationships with members, first by seeking to understand what is important to them, and then by providing customized, advice-driven solutions that will guide them on their financial journey. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills to engage members and provide service delivery through contact channels.

 

What you’ll do:

  •  Advise members on a full range of deposit and investment products and services (including new accounts, cards, term deposits, and registered products) for an assigned portfolio.
  • Advise members on personal and small business lending products and services (including mortgages, personal loans, lines of credit, credit card application, and associated insurance products).
  • Interview loan applicants, analyze their finances, and make recommendations.
  • Service and manage estate accounts within an assigned portfolio.
  • Partner with other SASCU department specialists to provide comprehensive advice to the member.
  • Undertake assigned administrative duties including regular and ad hoc reporting, audits, and preparing routing correspondence.
  • Provide support to Contact Centre Specialists as required.

 

What you’ll bring:

  •  One year of post-secondary education or equivalent, plus 2-4 years financial services experience with demonstrated sales skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and telephone communication.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management software.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-development.

Position Overview:

This employee supports company growth by seeking out new commercial business opportunities which will promote profitable growth for YCU.   This is accomplished by seeking opportunities to promote and increase the sale of commercial services.   This will include but not be limited to development of business for current and potential members, recommending modifications to policies in response to new or changing circumstances; proactively develop a network of relationships and performing other related duties to further growth of YCU.  The Director of the commercial team is on the senior management team and actively participates in the strategic planning process for the credit union while providing strong leadership, organizational, impact, influencing and presentation skills.

 

Job Specifications

A post-secondary education and/or related experience in a financial institution or comparable industry, with extensive credit granting ability, together with the ability to interact at any level within the organization and in a business development capacity within the community.   A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in sales/service and managing a diverse portfolio in a Business Banking environment, including 5 to 7 years of Management experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Grows and manages a profitable commercial financing portfolio of diversified Commercial business members.
  2. Strong, proven, origination, business development, relationship building and portfolio management skills.
  3. Keeps abreast of changes within diverse industry sectors and proactively identifies opportunities to improve the growth and development of the assigned portfolio by analyzing member needs, trends, and competitor offerings.
  4. Independently generates credit and deposit opportunities through cultivation of prospects, calling on referral resources, and networking with centres of influence.
  5. Minimizes loan risks through diligent, timely and proactive annual financial reviews and ongoing monitoring of changing economic/marketplace influences and applicable industry trends/data.
  6. Effectively manages loan risks, develops risk issues and adjusts to the changing credit needs to restructure deals and minimize losses.
  7. Structures, negotiates, and documents credit and cash management arrangements outlining loan terms and conditions relative to risk, needs of borrower and cost of administration ensuring an appropriate return to the Credit Union.
  8. Demonstrates a well-developed understanding and solid analytical skills in the areas of balance sheets, cash flow mechanics, and business plans presented by Members.
  9. Exhibits strong general business acumen coupled with the ability to develop a comprehensive finance package structured exclusively to meet the member’s credit and non-credit needs.
  10. Mentors and coaches less experienced Commercial Services colleagues through collaborative teamwork and provides advice regarding account management and credit structuring.
  11. Effective knowledge of banking systems and personal computer applications

Lending Services Officer

LENDING SERVICES OFFICER

NORTH VALLEY CREDIT UNION

THE POSITION:

Due to a recent opening in our lending department, North Valley Credit Union is seeking the services of a qualified Loans Officer. The successful candidate will report directly to the Loans Manager.  Responsibilities will include duties typically associated with the lending function such as interviewing members, monitoring portfolio performance and focusing on growth opportunities. Those applying for this position must be fully competent in consumer and residential mortgage lending and in commercial underwriting and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum grade 12 diploma supplemented by direct lending training and experience

· A record of completing both formal and informal training and self-development courses

· Strong business development and relationship management skills

· Proven ability in portfolio management

· Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must

· Competence in both consumer and residential mortgage lending

· Must be skilled at commercial loan underwriting and analyzation

· A working knowledge of syndicated loans will be an asset

COMPENSATION:

The level of compensation provided will depend upon qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package, which includes an 8% matched defined contribution pension plan as administered by the Co-operative Superannuation Society.  This position will also qualify for participation in a very generous, un-capped variable pay-profit sharing program that is industry leading within the credit union system of Saskatchewan.  A full range of employee benefits are provided including medical, dental, life insurance and more. THE CREDIT UNION:

North Valley Credit Union is a single branch operation located in the Town of Esterhazy. Total assets under administration are approaching $ 115 million. NVCU has the highest risk-weighted capital ratio of any credit union in the province combined with some of the lowest delinquency ratios. The staff complement is 11 FTE.

THE COMMUNITY:

Esterhazy is located north of the Qu’Appelle valley, 73 km from the Manitoba border and 90 km southeast of Yorkton. It has a population of approximately 2,800 and is a full service community. Located within our community is a hospital, medical clinic, dentist, part-time Chiropractor and Optometrist, an RCMP detachment and K-12 schools plus a daycare centre. Other amenities include a 9-hole grass green golf course, curling and skating rinks, three gymnasiums including an Anytime Fitness facility, outdoor aquatic centre, children’s park, walking trails, museum, library, Potash Interpretive Centre and bowling alley.  It also has a strong retail sector consisting of three pharmacies, two grocery stores, three convenience stores, a hardware store, bargain shop and several restaurants. The potash mines in the immediate area are expanding and this increased economic activity bodes well for the future of this geographic region.
