Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation is the deposit guarantor for Saskatchewan credit unions and the primary regulator for Saskatchewan credit unions and SaskCentral, together, Provincially Regulated Financial Institutions (PRFIs). We work closely with these institutions to ensure they employ sound business practices to enhance the strength and stability of the Saskatchewan credit union system.

How you will spend your time:

As Operations Coordinator – Corporate Operations you will provide administrative support and contribute to the coordination of workflows required by individual teams and vendors to ensure ongoing operations and initiatives are met in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

This position is responsible to:

  • provide administrative support including the coordination, development, formatting, editing/proofreading and distribution of reports, board items and materials.
  • provide coordination across multiple departments and with vendors, for the development, preparation and distribution of corporate documents and materials
  • support for human resource functions including recruitment, benefits, payroll and compensation
  • support the records management process; archiving electronic and physical documents and coordinating the storage and destruction of offsite records
  • provide back-up to the Executive Assistant and other Operations Coordinators
  • provide support to Corporate Operations team and VP Corporate Operations as required

What you’ll need:

  • Office Education or Business Administration and/or administrative experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • exceptional proofreading and editing skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • ability to set priorities and manage multiple assignments within deadlines
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to understand and execute oral and written instruction
  • ability to create, compose, proof and edit written materials

  • Degree in Business Administration/Commerce
  • Professional designation and/or membership in CPHR/IABC
  • Several years’ progressive leadership experience in corporate operations
  • Exposure to corporate governance, planning, human resources management, communications, and project management and records are required.
  • Experience leading a team of direct reports would be considered an asset.

North Peace Savings and Credit Union, serving Northern British Columbia, is recruiting for a permanent full time Senior Financial Advisor for our Fort St John Branch.

Reporting to the Manager Retail Advisory, the Senior Financial Advisor must quickly and efficiently probe to uncover and assess overall needs of all members (at every contact) and identify opportunities to further deepen the engagement with the member.  The Senior Financial Advisor is able to provide appropriate education, advice, products and services to meet the varied need of Senior Financial Advisor will be responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge on all NPSCU deposit and lending products for appropriate referral opportunities.  In all activities, ensures prudent risk management is followed to protect the Credit Union.

Key Outcomes:

The Customer Success Representative supports the department in the achievement of its business plan by maintaining consistent personal upgrading of required knowledge, providing high quality client service, and providing recommendations for efficiencies.

Qualifications:

  • One year of post-secondary education with 2-4 years comprehensive knowledge and experience working with registered plans and mortgages
  • Resourceful team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, complemented by proven time management and problem solving skills
  • Good working knowledge of the Portfolio data system would be an asset

Our Loans Officers are available to our members through in-person meetings, phone calls, and other forms of electronic communication.  The ability to provide expert advice when it’s truly needed is crucial to meeting our members needs.  We know our members, and to see their successes is extremely rewarding.  The Loans Officer is responsible for oversight of their own lending portfolio, which may include consumer, agriculture, and commercial files.  Each portfolio has a different level of complexity and presents the opportunity for new learnings each and every day!  The role of Loans Officer can be challenging, yet rewarding, where the reward far outweighs the challenge!

You have a desire to learn and have an in-depth understanding of lending practices and procedures.  The ideal candidate will have many years of service in the credit union system, and experience as a lender.    You have an appetite for risk, and know when to take the risk, and when to shy away from it.  You will be responsible to mitigate risk of default.  When required you will initiate action to collect on delinquent loans, as necessary.

While you may not have lending experience, you may have experience in the financial services industry and are eager to take the next step to grow your career.  We want to hear from you too, we are committed to training the right candidate!
