About PPJV:

In response to the rapidly changing payments landscape and the multiyear Payments Canada modernization initiative, the Centrals of Alberta, Manitoba (CUCM) and Saskatchewan formed a joint venture known as PPJV on behalf of all prairie credit unions. PPJV resources are in year two of a multi-year project to move to a payments as a service model with IBM. They are also intent upon streamlining the payments functions between the three Centrals. The goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, cost-effective, modernized payments processing infrastructure.

 

The Position:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization with revenue model development, pricing model and management, planning of financial activities such as budgets, and invoice processing and financial tracking. In addition, this position provides expertise to the department for development of excel spreadsheets and complete any ad hoc reporting requests.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy & Engagement, you will work alongside managers and staff to develop reports and analysis that support business decisions. Your work will ensure that PPJV complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements.  Acting as a subject matter expert within PPJV, you will share knowledge and understanding of the rules of the various regulatory requirements that PPJV is subject to and answer questions on PPJV’s Compliance and Risk function.

 

The Person:

  • A post-secondary degree or equivalent education in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Completion of or working towards completion of the CPA or CFA designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of four years of related experience.
  • High degree of computer literacy, particularly in spreadsheets including macros.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Credit Union/Caisse Populaires, Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents and the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and Regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and accounting principles
  • Demonstrates influence, innovation, customer focus, critical thinking, self-motivation, and is results- oriented, with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Understanding of payments industry and payments processing is considered an asset.

THE POSITION: 
The Recovery Specialist II will review and discuss collection activities with consumer, agricultural, and commercial lenders on loans in arrears and will manage and conduct resolution activities when required. This individual will ensure collection activities are in compliance with all legislation, regulations, policies and procedures. A Recovery Specialist II does the following:

  • Initiates contact with delinquent members to discuss repayment plans and financial situations
  • Reviews, discusses, develops and implements realization strategies on delinquent loans

Associate Manager – Regulatory Oversight (2 Positions)

Who are we?

Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation (the Corporation) is the deposit guarantor for Saskatchewan credit unions and the primary regulator for Saskatchewan credit unions and SaskCentral, together, Provincially Regulated Financial Institutions (PRFIs). We work closely with these institutions to ensure they employ sound business practices to enhance the strength and stability of the Saskatchewan credit union system.

We are seeking confident, highly motivated professionals who enjoy working in a fast‑paced co-operative environment to join the Regulatory Oversight division.

Position 1 – Associate Manager, Risk-Based Supervision: Permanent

This position is responsible for the oversight of institutions within the Saskatchewan credit union system. You will monitor institution performance to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risk to depositors’ funds and the guarantee fund. Your knowledge in the areas of corporate governance, finance, and credit risk management will support the execution of on-going monitoring, in-depth reviews, and intervention processes for PRFIs. You will assess regulatory approval requests from institutions to ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements while also supporting the maintenance of the risk-based supervisory framework.

Position 2 – Associate Manager, Regulatory Policy & Prevention: 12 Month Term

This position is responsible for supporting the research, development, implementation, and communication of regulatory policy and prevention initiatives. You will participate in the development of regulatory policy to ensure an effective and responsible framework for the regulation of PRFIs. You will assist in the evaluation of guarantee fund strategies by assessing ongoing monitoring and reporting of credit union financial and non-financial performance, trends, developments, and emerging risks.

What you’ll need:

The ideal candidates will have a degree in business administration/commerce with three years of related experience in accounting, finance, policy development, financial services, or a regulatory environment. A designation or enrollment in a professional designation would be an asset. Core competencies include teamwork, communication, relationship management, conflict resolution, and problem solving.

Reporting to the Manager, Audit for the CUs inSync partners of Conexus, Cornerstone and Innovation Credit Unions are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team.  The Senior Audit Analyst will work with audit staff conducting risk-based audits which encompass all areas of credit union operations and follow the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards. This position is also responsible for:

  • Leading and conducting risk-based audits with respect to all areas of credit union operations following the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards
  • Creating and providing/communicating reports on audit results to the appropriate audit management; participating in audit committee meetings if/when required

Manager of Deposit Support

Reporting to the Manager of Retail Administrative Services, this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the Centralized Deposit Support team.  You lead the administration of the deposit side of business and account related services, supporting your team to deliver efficient and accurate deposit taking and ancillary administrative services.

Qualifications: Preference is given to two year related post-secondary program (Diploma program) with four to six years or related experience. An equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered. Must be a proven leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.  The ability to work with various programs, software and technology is required.

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and conscientious person to join our team as a Member Services Specialist
focusing on serving our members who are making transfer and withdrawals decisions.
Join the CSS Pension Plan and its Member Experience Department as a Member Services Specialist. You
will care for our members’ journeys by:

  • Taking responsibility and ownership of pension administration responsibilities focusing on
    decision points along a member’s journey related to transfers, withdrawals and payments (e.g.,
    decisions to consolidate funds, decisions at termination of employment, death benefit
    payments, etc.),
  • Analyzing detailed financial and membership information to identify opportunities for

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility for pension administration processes, with a focus on transfers, withdrawals and
payments:

  • Explain all Plan requirements for the transaction and guide the member through the
    completion and submission of appropriate forms.
  • Enter properly completed requests into the Plan’s pension administration system and
    generate payments, complete required transfer documentation and forward to receiving
    financial institutions, as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, perform quality assurance testing.

Responsibility to team and culture

  • Possession of a Pension Plan Administration Certificate (or equivalent), and
  • Five years or more experience with financial transactions or pension or benefit administration.
