What you’ll bring:

Along with a post-secondary degree in a related field, you will have a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience with internal control and risk management within a financial institution. Other experience and education requirements include:

  • A strong understanding of branch operations, including cash and member services, as well as personal lending.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit union banking systems, retail products, processes, terminology, and current procedures.
  • The ability to obtain the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS) designation within 12 months of attaining the role.
  • The Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is an asset.

 

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn specialized software specific to risk management are expected. Strong organization, communication, analytical, and coaching skills are also essential. The successful candidate must be able to present complex information to several audiences with varying levels of understanding. Senior Audit Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Audit for the CUs inSync partners of Conexus, Cornerstone and Innovation Credit Unions are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team.  The Senior Audit Analyst will work with audit staff conducting risk-based audits which encompass all areas of credit union operations and follow the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards. This position is also responsible for:

  • Leading and conducting risk-based audits with respect to all areas of credit union operations following the Institute of Internal Auditors Standards
  • Creating and providing/communicating reports on audit results to the appropriate audit management; participating in audit committee meetings if/when required

Qualification and Skill Requirements

The successful candidate will possess post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, and CPA designation completed or in progress.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

THE POSITION:  The Manager, Operational Risk reports to the Chief Risk Officer and leads the development and implementation of the operational risk management framework. Associate Manager, Internal Audit

We are looking for an experienced professional to support delivery of the Internal Audit program to meet the needs of credit unions while providing profitability and sustainability to SaskCentral.

The Job:
Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, you will manage internal audit activities, determine the nature of audit engagements, support engagement planning, review working papers and issue final reports. You will present audit findings to multiple stakeholders, including credit union executives, boards of directors and audit committees. You will support a group of management consultants and liaise with credit unions to ensure their audit issues are resolved and their needs are met. As a seasoned professional, you will build and maintain strong relationships with regulators, external auditors, clients and stakeholders. You will also ensure best practices are met by maintaining knowledge of changes in the financial services sector and regulatory and compliance environment. This position requires flexibility and travel.

The Candidate:
You will have a degree in business administration coupled with an understanding of internal audit standards and best practices and 2 to 3 years’ experience in the internal audit field. A professional accounting designation or Certified Internal Auditor designation would be an asset. You will understand the legislative and compliance environment of credit unions and the overall financial services sector. An understanding of sound lending practices and anti-money laundering legislation would be beneficial. Strong written communication and facilitation skills are required to be successful in this role. Relationship management, analytical and strategic thinking skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize are also required. You will be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with multiple stakeholders, and will exercise sound judgment while providing recommendations and solutions.
